Attention PC/Steam Users
I have finally found the fix for “UE4-MCC Fatal Error” game crash. Please follow the given instructions carefully.
Open Steam.
Place your cursor on Library and click on Home.
From the list on the left side, click on Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
On the right side, there will be a gear/settings icon, click on that.
Select Properties.
In the General tab, click on Set Launch Options.
In the space given, type this: -windowed
Click OK and close properties afterwards.
Now click on Play.
This is run the game WITHOUT the “UE4-MCC fatal error”
Although, it may initially run in a very small window. No need to worry at all.
Let the game load as usual, then from the main menu go to options > video > then change the resolution as per your need.
NOTE: DONOT run the game on Fullscreen mode, as it crashes the game immediately. There may/may not be issues with the borderless mode, but the
Window mode works just fine.
I have a 1600x900 monitor, so I set the resolution for the same and I’m running on Window mode only. And I can’t even tell the difference as it takes up the whole screen. And I’ve had Zero crashes with the window mode.
Exactly, this fix works for the steam version but not the game pass version. I’m sure that someone could deep dive into the windows apps folder, add special permissions to gain access, and create a shortcut forcing windowed mode, but this shouldn’t be required.
Finally I have fixed the “Fatal Error MCC crash”. So it was happening because I had put the settings to 60 fps and not what the optimal settings. Follow these steps : Right click on the Halo MCC icon - Troubleshoot Compatibility - Try recommended settings - Test the program and play as long as you like in Windows 8 compatibility (I have Windows 10 latest version). If it doesn’t crashes, then select Next and select the settings for Windows 8 and you are done. The game will not crash again!
I am facing the same issue. I have changed the setting to Windowed option and still I am facing the same issue. Could somebody help me resolving this issue please?
i now how to fixed it just delete the binder call easyanticheat (not on the app on the file browser) on Halo the master chief colection on steam on see the
file location or something like that
sorry for my english i’m mexican, i hope this could help you
This did note work for me. I am on Steam and have my game stored in my D drive. all the other tutorials on YouTube did not work either. any other suggestions?
None of these fixed the issue, the issue is that the game does not like to boot in fullscreen, even using the -windowed option in steam launching doesn’t do anything.
The fix for me was to go to the GameUserSettings.ini (C:\Users<your user>\AppData\LocalLow\MCC\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor), in this file search the below values and make sure they’re set to ‘1’, this then launches the game in borderless with no issue.
Values to change:
FullscreenMode=1
LastConfirmedFullscreenMode=1
PreferredFullscreenMode=1
i found using this fix to load the game play for a few mins, then quit and remove the line of code fixed my game and its now no longer crashing. i was about to give up on mcc after spending 2 days trouble shooting and downloading mcc 3 times
