Type of personalities for characters in Infinite?

So the past Halo games (just to name a few) we had Emile who was a badass, Sgt. Johnson who was a badass, humble characters like the Arbiter, a power driven religious fanatic at the head of the Covenant, and other minor characters like Chips Dubbo, who was in there as an easter egg but had a trend going on. In my opinion Halo 4 and 5 didn’t have stand out characters like this, I wonder if 343 will try to put in these unique personalities into their characters in Halo Infinite and maybe include cameos or easter egg characters. What would you guys want to see?

The standout character of Halo 4 and 5 is Cortana, which was further developped and ultimately changed to something else. She is the most “human” character that the Halo videogames ever had. Specially in Halo 4, she had a range of emotions that actual human characters usually lack.

In Halo Infinite, it looks like The Pilot will be one of the most fleshed out characters, he is worried about his family and scared and annoyed about the situation he’s in. That sounds like a good character, not just a personality trait, like “badass”.

Like @magabro5382 mentioned above we’ll be seeing the Pilot as Chiefs “sidekick” I guess. From the trailer and gameplay we’ve seen we can kind of get a glimpse of his character.
He’s been stranded in space for a long long time and wants to see his family again. Upon finding Chief he believes he’ll finally be able to go back home and away from the war but Chief instead takes him to the Halo ring to fight the Banished, which the Pilot isn’t too happy about.

Wether the Pilot will ever get a name or not we don’t know. I’d imagine we will but if not I think it also works as a sort of symbolism, “The Pilot” is just another solider in the war who could have really been anyone. He’s a representation of a regular trooper, just another human who’s tired of fighting.

Its nice to have characters like the Pilot because it helps the player to comprehend the situation and well help catch the frustrations the Pilot goes through, but I was wondering can there be characters that can become fan favorites through having a set of characteristics that make fans wanting more interactions with them? And if so what type of character would you like to see? Personally I would like to see more of someone like Micky.

I think Halo is missing more quippy smartasses, like Buck in Halo 5.

When it comes to character concepts, I notice with 343 is they often struggle with “badass” characters. Sarah Palmer seemed like one of their early attempts but she came out more annoying. Locke was a better attempt though in my opinion. Although they are good at making villains we can understand like Jul Mdama and Atriox (given their past). So far I like that pilot guy in Halo Infinite. He’s the most “human” character I’ve ever seen in Halo. Plus, he has a family and I presume not some “I lost my whole family” or “I was abducted by the military” tragic background like 99.9% of the Halo characters.

Lasky is the bro of bros. Palmer, whether you like her or not, has a personality. I very much disagree with the saying that H4 and H5 didn’t have stand out characters, They just weren’t one note that did one thing only. Johnson, as much as I love him, only really had one personality trait. There is nothing wrong with that, but it didnt make him necessarily a better character

For Brohammer I think it would be funny if half the time he is angry with Chief for putting him in so much danger all the time. If he was a hothead it would be hallarious because he can’t stop Chief from doing crazy things anyway!
