Two versions of LAAG needed

I have noticed that the LAAG, as it is now and has been since launch is fine as it is, no changes needed. In the Pro settings of BTIS, I’ve been in games where the LAAG gunner has had killing frenzies through to and including Rampages.

The buff by thirty five per cent to the LAAG set for June 3rd, should apply to Hogs/LAAGs in the Infinity setting maps only as that is where it is needed, to counter the PP/PGs. On the other hand, such a buff in the Pro settings will see a God like vehicle which it should not be, putting it on an equal par with the pre nerf Gauss Hog. This occurrence shows that there is in fact nothing wrong with the killing power of the LAAG gun, but the issue is the PP/PG. With them not in Pro, the LAAG reins supreme!

I can see that very well being the case. Looks like the forums will still have something to complain excessively about, poor 343

I’m not complaining about it and, I am not saying that you mean that I am. Personally, I can live with the LAAG buff applying across the board. I love driving and would love to have gunners get massive kill streaks. I drove 8 people to Unfiggenbelivables with the Gauss Hog. I know something that is overpowered when l use it and the buffed LAAG on Infinity setting maps will be OP, based on its current performance on Pro maps of the current pre buffed LAAG.

Having recently played Halo 3, I can tell you that the LAAG in Halo 4 is far inferior in power by far. Giving it a well deserved buff will bring it up to par with the good old versions of the original trilogy, where the Warthog was a vehicle to be feared and required good teamwork to take out.

I think the problem in Slayer Pro is that there aren’t any Plasma Pistols or Grenades on the map, not to my knowledge anyway, so there’s a severe lack of anti-vehical weapons. If we could just have a regular classic playlist, then maybe the buff wouldn’t be so bad…

Had pp’s and stickies not been available in loadouts in the first place, we wouldn’t have needed a warthog buff. This is why I’d rather see an increase in the hog’s durability rather than its turret power. Unless this turret buff can shoot grenades out of the air, stickies and pp’s will still be an issue. Not to mention dmr’s will still rip through warthogs like its nothing.

This buff is basically going to put a heavier turret on a wooden jeep.

As for the gauss hog, I’m not exactly sure what good a nerf would have done for it. Last time I checked the only nerf it got was its rof which was greatly reduced from the halo 2-reach rofs. Otherwise it’s supposed to be op. Its a freaking mounted railgun ffs. If it still isn’t balanced then chances are it shouldn’t be on the map in the first place.

The Halo 3 Warthog was also much more durable, it didn’t catch on fire or blow up when two went full speed into each other.
