Two Unfortunate Truths Tactical Slayer Proves

Crossplay may be to blame for terrible desync.

Possibly, but if that’s the case it may be more likely the issue is on the Xbox One generations that can’t handle the high resolution 60+ fps that the Series generation and PC can. Timing signals from the different frame rates might be conflicting and causing the issues.

I’m having a blast in SWAT. What I do notice though is that some players tend to bring in their team slayer mentality into this mode and it often gets them killed, a lot.

I’m getting pretty good at calling out PC players. Other than the obvious jerky movement patterns and ability to 180 headshot, most of them look like they are dropping frames when running/sprinting (I’m on XSX playing at 120fps so most of the time it’s very smooth) and there is clear desync when up against them in 1v1 gunfights or melee brawls. I have no scientific or technical proof to confirm this or why it happens, all I know is that when I call it out in game and check post game lobby they are 9 times out of 10 playing on PC.

Yea pretty much.

At first I was gonna brush of Controller whine-babies because H4 and H5 babysat them too hard, but actually trying it? HOLY COW THE AA IS ACTUALLY RIDICULOUSLY INCONSISTENT.

And there definitely is a hacker problem. Like whut, did MS not get Easy Anti Cheat again for Infinite? Despite it releasing F2P? Gosh.

I don’t think it has anything to do which system you’re on. I think it’s just servers issue. It seems everyone on every platform are having the same issues. MMC has crossplay and doesn’t have these issues. Neither do other games like CoD or Battlefield. There is just something wrong on the server side if things.

I agree to an extent. Also don’t think the game is optimised for any platform…think they’d have been better off just releasing the game on XSX or XSX+PC, and forget about previous gen consoles. Obviously the supply issues have played a major part in this but I think the game would have been in a better state if they hadn’t had so many platforms to integrate. As such, the network performance, netcode and server issues could all be related to this.

Yeah I’m not sure how much hardware plays into the situation if at all. The game is just not optimized on any platform as you have mentioned. I think that’s one of the bigger issues. But this seems to be common place in the gaming industry now.

Yep…and just because other games are doing it doesn’t mean they had to do the same with Halo Infinite. Jumping on the bandwagon without addressing all the blatant issues that other titles have encountered is negligent…either do it properly or if you can’t then make different versions for different platforms. Profit and greed are the driving force behind all of these decisions.

I don’t think any company does it on purpose. I don’t think greed has anything to do with it. The problem is games are getting bigger. And I’m not talking about the open world aspect but the technology.

Just creating all the assets, 4k textures, motion capture, animations etc… it’s just so expensive and so time consuming that it’s honestly the best decision to release a game half finished. You can always add improvements later and the game once released will start to produce additional revenue.

I don’t think companies, even rich ones like Microsoft have much of a choice. Without some return on investment they just wouldn’t be able to build games. And that’s not even taking into consideration employment costs. Cost of living, healthcare, vacation, etc…

That’s pure BS and the video games industry needs to have industry standards enforced for selling products not fit for purpose. You wouldn’t buy a car with a half built engine or order a partly cooked meal. There is absolutely no justification in releasing a half finished game, and I’m not just talking about Halo Infinite. This kind of practice wouldn’t be a acceptable in any other industry and shouldn’t be accepted by the consumers, and the developers/publishers should be held to account.

That’s not even comparable. You think the Halo store is expensive? Cars are marked up like crazy. Easily 30% +. There half built by robots. Chefs aren’t comparable either since most make minimum wage. Except the head chef.

We’re talking about technology, game developers who make (rightful) six figures plus benefits, development costs, studio operation costs, server operations cost, massive amounts of marketing, and an every evolving game and need for extra content. I mean the cost is of building a video game is almost twice that of making a blockbuster movie. And for the 3-6 years of development the game is producing zero income. Eventually it has to release. And some things are just easier to add in later.

Don’t get me wrong I’m not condoning the current state of Halo. Especially with aim assist, desync, and crashing issues. Those types of things just shouldn’t happen especially after multiple betas.

Like it or not, you are condoning and trying to justify every half finished game that has been released in recent years. It’s totally unacceptable that the gaming industry isn’t regulated and vetted for standards.

I’m not getting into your analysis and retort of the basic examples I made in my last post as you’ve completely missed the point bringing relative costings into it…it’s about the quality of the product being sold to consumers.

Anyways, we’re not going to agree on this so time to move on :sunglasses::+1:

It has to be because I have the exact same experience, I’m able to call pc players out because they lag or are desynced and no other reason

Desync is just an overall issue. It has nothing to do with crossplay. Truth ks 343 build their matchmaking/servers completely backwards from what is traditional and it’s causing all sorts of issues.

The new Tactical Ops event has once again made this thread relevant. It’s also proven that no progress has been made in the past few months. If anything the game is getting worse.

Only going to defend pre firing around corners. You should be doing this in swat always. People do it out of swat too, not because they are cheating but because infinite favors the shooter, not the target, whoever hits first is going to win more than any other halo I’ve ever played.

How would someone know the exact moment that you’re about to turn a corner from across the map without being spotted?
