- Immediate 15 minute Ban (if you have a bad Internet connection fix it or play a different game) - When someone quits on either team immediately end the game (this way people don’t have to suffer through the rest of the match, gain a cheap win or have their KDA messed with)
Both those ideas are terrible, and would cause a huge drop in game population.
Sometimes “fixing” your internet isn’t all that easy and 15 minutes is a little harsh. I think for arena if someone drops out either give them the opportunity to jump back in or replace them with another player like warzone I don’t really see the reason why they don’t do that for ranked games

Do you foresee how badly that will be abused by -Yoink- trolls. Games would be ending left and right.
You have to think of the lowest common denominator when it comes to providing a fix and whether or not you can accept it.

ok lots of problems with both. On topic one sometimes peoples internet slows down for a few hours through no fault of there own and doesnt really break immersion with the game if your own internet is fine and your reason on 2 is bad because people could get on and just troll matches all day by quitting out at the end and screwing everyone out of win/loss/stats whatever. Really bad ideas man. You are obviously posting out of anger.

1.So because someone is in an area with poor internet service, and has the occasional dropped game, they should leave the community? No way. they also paid for the game, same as you and should get the same
2. I would never finish a game if this were the case.

They don’t do this because it compromises the ranking system. Rank is based on W/L (as it should be) and putting someone into a game that they didn’t play the entire time gives them an outcome (either Win or Loss) that they didn’t earn. Warzone can do this because rank doesn’t matter, but when you are trying to establish a pecking order, giving people an extra match without them earning it undermines the whole system. Some may say don’t make the match count for them then, which only incentivizes more quitting.
No anger here, just frustration over so many worthless games when people quit.
You guys are probably right re: 1 strike and 15 minute ban (that is a little harsh) but I still think ending Arena games when someone quits is a good idea. The game becomes worthless when it’s not balanced so why continue it?
Or they could fix the issues with the game that make it rage inducing and cause so many quitters.
There are times in which people should not be punished. If that’s understood then…
Reduce SR rank back to the start of the current number. Some sort of REQ punishment, pay so many REQs to play again that day or something. Just sprouting ideas here.

Because it’s open for abuse. If a game is even, and one team is in the lead, they can take turns quitting which would mean a win for the three others, in something that would otherwise be a close game.
Match quitters and other players who show unwanted behaviour against each other for a few matches without rewards or stat records. Then when they’ve had a few clean consequtive games, let them back with the normal players.

That’s why you Ban people to prevent the behavior you are describing…

I’ve been in plenty of games where the team down a person wins. It might actually do better without the weak link. And honestly if you are going to quit, quit early so the team can make a comeback before you decide you’ve had enough after going 3-20. The good players rarely quit, so it can actually help some teams. Very rarely does quitting make that much of an impact
Retribution for leaving a game isn’t truly necessary.

This is what I was going to say. I usually don’t actually notice until near the end game (when I’m more frequently checking the scoreboard) that anyone has quit. Essentially that boils down to 1 person quitting a game, rarely makes much of a difference.

A ban can be waited out while doing other things. Playing matches with other people who are not playing properly requires you to do stuff. Your punishment is empty non-rewarding games where people behave like you.
