Two Questions on the PC Physical Version

Sorry if this has been asked before but I have two burning questions about this:

  1. Does the PC physical disk version include Play Anywhere functionality?
  2. Will I have to wait for the game to arrive to get Halo Wars Definitive Edition, or will I be emailed a code?

Hey OP - for your first question I’m assuming you mean Halo Wars 2 Physical edition? If so then yes you are in luck, physical copies of Halo Wars 2 will be able to access the play anywhere feature. This is from on of the last community updates:

Even cooler, this physical PC disc will also grant digital access to the Xbox One version via “Xbox Play Anywhere.” Physical discs of the Standard and Ultimate Edition of Halo Wars 2 will be avaialable at retail stores with “high quality packaging” and the Ultimate Edition includes four-day early accss to the core game, a season pass and Halo Wars: Definitive Edition - just like the Xbox One version. One important point to note is that the physical version of Halo Wars 2 for WIndows 10 still requires a one-time, non-transferrable online activation at installation via a digital token.

I read beforehand about the methods used to get the code, I’m just wondering, for the PC physical edition specifically, whether the code for the game comes inside the box or I claim the code the same way other editions do. The posts tend to refer to the Digital versions of the game only, although we know the HWDE code will be included with the PC physical edition also. It just still seems unclear to me whether I’m a) going to receive the code in the box or b) will receive it in a wave of codes being given out like the other editions

That I am not sure about sorry, may be worth reaching out to ske7ch or Xbox Live Support and see if they can help, or if you bought from a retailer like game stop you could try contacting them

I pre-ordered the physical PC version on Amazon (prime members get an additional 20% discount). I haven’t received any info about HWDE and I’m expecting that the code will come with the Play Anywhere codes with the physical PC version.
