Someone probably noticed this already, but here we go.
The Halo 5 beta will have two human rocket launchers. This is not a leak, it’s just pretty much confirmed already.
The first is the one we saw in the First Look vid, along with th BR, AR, DMR, and all the rest. The shoulder-mounted, seemingly single-shot one. We have yet to see gameplay for it.
The he second has been seen in snippets of gameplay, as well as in a piece of concept art. It is a six-shot, hip-fired launcher with an infantry lock-on feature when utilising smart scope.
To to be honest, I love these designs. But I’m usually a minority around here. Opinions?
I like that plasma launcher like weapon, but the rocket launcher looks horrid, and not nearly as awesome as the iconic one. I hope to god it hasn’t been replaced.

Bit of a paradox, there, but fair enough. Still, I think a preliminary jab would be fair enough. From what I’ve seen of it, I think it looks alright, so long as it’s not a 1sk.
I don’t care for lock on weaponry with the exception of the Needler and Plasma Launcher.
Can’t really say much about it from the snippet but I am curious whether it is a ‘heavy’ weapon like the rockets/laser or a ‘medium’ weapon ala Grenade launcher/Sticky Det/Railgun.
I hope that it is something like a replacement for one of the medium weapons rather than adding onto a 3rd heavy UNSC weapon, replacing OG rockets, or adding a 3rd UNSC medium weapon.

An issue I can see with the one-shot missile (perhaps a Stinger missile) is that it’s utility may overlap with the Incineration Cannon. As for the six-shot launcher, we should be extremely wary of any type of lock-on weapon 343 might try to add to the sandbox. Unless they are relatively difficult to use, like Titanfall’s smart pistol, they can cause huge problems for balance.

From what I saw, the projectile speed of the six-shot is pretty slow. A guy managed to get behind cover before it reached him, so that probably helps balance it. I can see what you mean about the missile launcher, as well. Unless they scrap or change the functionality of the in in, it will be a little redundant.
From the looks of it, the rocket launcher that we saw in the beta announcement, I think that new rocket launcher might be a laser guided one or anti infantry rocket launcher. And the other launcher might be a grenade launcher. I don’t want 343 to replace the Spankr rocket launcher.
The six shot looks like a grenade launcher, while the other one looks more like a single shot variant on the classic RL. My guess is they’re giving the Rocket Launcher less ammo, but possibly buffing the shot or splash damage, while adding a grenade launcher that does less damage but has more ammo.

I wouldn’t call it a grenade launcher since it seems to home in rather than bounce like a grenade, but I get what you mean. As for the big one, yeah, I agree.
