Two different Battle Rifles in Halo 4?

In the Halo Bulletin from 03.15.2012 the Battle Rifle that will be used in Halo 4 has the term “BR85HB SR”. On the screenshots of Halo 4 that are posted in this bulletin is a writing that says “BR55HB SR”.
I think that this could probably be because these screenshots are taken from renderings that were made at a time when the term of the Battle Rife that will be used in Halo 4 hadn’t been set or was different (even though the term “BR55HB SR” is actually the name of the Battle Rifle that was used in Halo 2 and Halo 3).
It could also be, however, that two different Battle Rifles can be used in Halo 4, of which one would probably be the Battle Rifle that is used in Halo 2 and Halo 3 and the other one would be the BR85HB SR. I however don’t know why the two Battle Rifles would then look the same.

Maybe the one not from 2 or 3 is semi-automatic.

Well, Halo Reach currently has 3 different DMR’s in matchmaking. We should only have 1 BR.

I don’t think that this was accidentally written wrong. The Battle Rifle that will be used in Halo 4 appearently is a newer model. Also, I don’t think that such a mistake would be made in a Halo Bulletin.

And the 3 are what? The one without bloom, the one with and the one with 85% bloom???

plus, if they had the two Bs, one could be used in custom games, firefight, campaingn, or maybe a classic playlist.

What? It makes more sense for it to just be a typo rather than them having the same gun in the game twice…

I agree. looks suspiciously like a typo. and even if there is a “BR85” and it is different that the BR55 and that is also in the game, i doubt they will call both of them the battle rifle.

Or it could replace the BR55. didn’t see those posts before i wrote this… don’t ask

It’s a typo. I’ve addressed the issue to various 343i employees.
It will be fixed.
