Two Betrayals

I’m reluctant to make this post as I imagine it’s been made before but I don’t think it has been recently.

Anyway, in the cut scene at the start of the level Two Betrayals in Halo CE, Guilty Spark says something along the lines of “when you asked me last time whether I would have done it…” (or something like that). He’s obviously confused Master Chief for a forerunner but you never find out who he was referring to, does anyone know who it is?

Once again, sorry if this has been answered lots before.

I made a theory that speaks of chief having the Gea of the didact and spark confusing him for the didact. Bungie has always said “he isn’t crazy we (you) just don’t understand what he is talking about.”

^I like this theory a lot.

I personally don’t  but thanks.

Why not?

After reading your post and part of The Flood, I am very convinced that John has the Didact’s imprint, but doesn’t realize it.

There are some other quotes from Halo 3 worth noting.

Cortana: “I am your shield; I am your sword. I know you, your past, your future…

Gravemind: “Child of my enemy, why have you come? I offer no forgiveness. The father’s sins are cast to his son.”

Was that cortana part about the past and future actually put into the game or did they leave it in the announcement?

The Gravemind part may now be in reference with Ancient man. I have a complex theory which speaks about “misidentity” and that the Humans are actually forerunners by definition to the forerunners. I haven’t been able to simplify it hence me not posting it so i’ll start refining it more.

Because from that and what was going on in primordium about the librarian it makes everything the humans have accomplished attributed to forerunner merit not our own. Which is exactly why forthencho was so pissed to realize he was “alive” due to forerunner meddling.

Like I said, I’ve still got a little bit of Primordium to finish, but simply stating that the Master Chief, John S-117, has the Didact’s imprint seems so much simpler.

It is Guilty Spark, he was partially rampant during the events of Halo: Combat Evolved and fully descended into rampancy near the end of Halo 3 or did you not get CEA and look at the terminals (it reveals that he was partially rampant well before the start of the game). He was referring to the Didact and yes you do get to find out who he was referring to because I just told you who he was referring to.

Word of advice: Please do your reasearch before you ask a question.

The link I posted is a great place to look up information since Halopedian prides itself on trying to be as accurate as possible.

Guilty Spark’s partial rampancy plus the possibility that Chief may have the Didact’s geas can do a lot of things.
