My main account: “Turi3ulent” was banned and I was given the URL www.halo4.com/ban concerning that. I wasn’t sure why I was banned, but my assumption was for system tampering, as most of the reasons listed pertained to that. I was unhappy, but content accepting that it must have been for “unsporty” behavior or something, as I don’t system tamper.
To continue playing, being the halo fanboy I am, I made a new account with a one month on it called: “Turrrrbulent”. I played about 25 doubles games primarily by myself, and again recieved a week ban. This time I didn’t even have a mic plugged in, so one of the few, somewhat concievable, explanations is out the window. Logic suggests I wouldn’t make a new account and continue to “system tamper” or whatever I’m apparently being accused of, considering I just got banned.
The only reasonable scenario I can think of is that the system really is registering me as tampering with my connection. I recently got new internet with excellent upload speeds resulting in me getting host a lot. My network is also really saturated (8 people in my house)so I’ve noticed that even when I’m hosting games when someone quits out I see redbar and we go black screen for 20 seconds roughly I have no idea why this happens and this has only happened like 5ish times though so it doesn’t seem that likely.

I have looked through your game history and it appears that you primarily play Team Doubles. From what I can see, it appears that in most of your matches that the opposing team has either had one or both of its team members quit out. The automated ban system could have perceived this as some sort of network manipulation, since you were the top player in the games I looked through. Couple that with a new internet connection that has heavy traffic, this is quite probable what has happened.
Let me just clarify that I am in no way saying myself that this is the case, just what I believe is the conclusion the matchmaking ban system has possibly come to.
Thanks, but when is someone that can fix this problem going to fix it? This is absolutely ridiculous, frustrating and cost me 10 dollars for no reason. I’ve been playing halo for over 10 years and been a viable member of the community and now I get banned for no reason with no explanation and can’t get help or a response in a timely manner…
Having a forum page regarding FAQ’s related to bans and a generalized link saying I’ve manipulated my connection only adds to my frustration. I’d like a real response with answers not just assumptions made viewing a vague assessment of people quiting. It’s team doubles in halo 4, people quit a lot, and it doesn’t seem like an adequate system if it’s automatically assuming I must be cheating.

There is nothing that can be fixed. The ban system is automated, nobody controls it meaning that bans can’t be lifted by an actual person. All bans are handed out by the matchmaking server algorithm designed to detect cheating, boosting AFKing etc, and any and all bans are irreversible. If its a temporary ban then all you can do is wait it out. If its permanent then nothing can be done.
So you mean to tell me that I literally have been banned for no reason by an automated system with no means of human intervention to possibly fix the problem? Is there also nothing you can do to personally contact 343 as an important figure in the community?
I don’t mean to sound rude towards you, as you have nothing to do with this. It just absolutely flabbergasts me that I’ve been banned two times for playing the game completely within the realm of fair play and I’m being told, well…that’s all folks. And what’s to prevent the system from banning me again once this suspension is over? Apparently it’s registering me as cheating quite quickly.
It specifcally says in the FAQ’s you can’t be banned for having a poor connection and intentional manipulation is required. Well, I’m absolutely not doing that, and I think upon further review the team will realize this. This problem needs to be fixed or I need contact information to speak to someone who can fix it.
Nothing about this can be fixed. It is all coded into the matchmaking system and the game, so without taking down the game completely and taking a possibly extensive time to completely rewrite the entire code for the server algorithm (which wouldn’t be fair to all the other players) nothing can be done. The system is very accurate in what it does. Have any of the games you experienced gone to black screen? This may also be a factor in how it has determined the ban. Furthermore I have contacted my fellow engineers to see if they have any further comments or advice on the issue, or you could try sending a PM Bravo to see if he can help you in any way. Other than that there is nothing that can be done.
Well by and large the system may be “good at what it does”, but this is complete and utter garbage. And yes some of my games have gone to black screen that’s what I described in my first post. I also find it hard to believe that something like this is completely irreversable, I’m tech savvy and it seems to be more of an avoidance tactic. But maybe I’m wrong.
Could I get a phone number to contact 343 directly?

I’m afraid there’s no injustice. From dozens of cases like yours that I have seen, the system never failed. Even when people claimed they hadn’t done anything wrong, there was still something.
And since the system is automated, nobody will do anything.

And who are you to say the system never fails? I’m here to say it does, case and point. Also, the term “automated” infers the process of action, not the inability to intervene, so I have no idea what you’re trying to say.
Feedback from community members is all you will receive on these forums, since they are the vast majority of people on here. I myself am simply a community member, I was chosen to be a Community Engineer for how much I have helped people. Even the Moderators on the forum are simply community members who were chosen for whatever reason to moderate the forums. Actual 343 employees very VERY rarely post anything on these forums unless it is going to have a massive impact to the entire fan base. There are no direct ways to contact 343 other than sending them a PM on here.

Everything about this game is automated, which means all the numerous flaws are also automated. I played this game daily for about 15 months, but have now pretty much given up on it. And I think it is fair to say that 343 have given up on it too.
Their goal now seems to be h5, no doubt they feel that it shall bring halo back to life, only time will tell if that is the case.
They have wiped their hands of the loyal fans who continued to support h4. All we are left with is a badly flawed game with no support. So much for loyalty.
As far as their automated system goes, I am starting to think it must be running windows 95. JIP is a classic example of this, I have lost track of the amount of times I was jip into a game, finished the game with a good amount of kills, then when the carnage report came up at the end of the game, my name was not even listed, nor did it register on my stats.
But who do you complain to ?. No one.
Imo 343 need to introduce a bit of human interaction, they seem to feel that people are happy to be ruled by an automated system that rules with an iron fist. Made even worse by the fact that the system is full of glitches.

You do know that Bungie used more or less automated system right since Halo 2? All they did was tweak it for each successive game and 343 simply added onto it for the JiP portion.
I don’t doubt what you say is true, however I have no interest in what Bungie did. My comments concern halo 4, There is no real way of communicating if you encounter problems or concerns with the game.
JIP is a good example of automation taken to extremes, basically a computer chooses for you what game type you will play, and what map you will play on. It denies you any freedom of choice, and penalises you if you leave the game. This imo is one of the major faults with h4, one of many.

If you’re off at college in a dorm room, they have their own systems that could be messing with your connection. It sounds like you have connection issues so this is all I can think of.
However, from what I’ve read, you sound like a spoiled little boy who was given the information he needed, but didn’t like it so he started a little temper tantrum, so I would be surprised if you were old enough for college.
So… if it isn’t that, then like everyone else, I don’t know what to tell you. This isn’t where you go to get information to contact 343, it isn’t where you go to get yourself unbanned (if it’s even possible), and this isn’t the place to go cry about things we have no control over. You’ve been given answers and you need to just accept them or go look somewhere else if you don’t like them. You’ve gotten all the help you’re going to get and continuing this thread won’t help you any further and you’ll just end up eventually getting banned from the forums as well for breaking some rules during your fits or rage.
