Twitch Streaming - Cause Lag?

Hey everyone,

I got my One when MCC was released. Does anyone know much about the Twitch app?

I’ve started using it recently for Campaign Solo Legendary etc… played some games of matchmaking whilst broadcasting too.

Last night I played a game and went 25 - 7 H2a Playlist. I was running round like a boss going ‘Totes Proh’ and couldn’t work out how we were losing?
It could’ve been bad team mates… but the fact everyone on my team was sitting on 2- 5 kills made me think there could be more to it.

I mean… I know streaming sucks up bandwidth. Within the game everyone’s connection seemed to be alright though. No lagging into walls… or shooting shadows of a person etc.
I only won BR 1v1’s by one shot… or was evenly matched.
Is it because I was host… and due to streaming, everyone else on my team was suffering?

I have 70Mb/s down, 20Mb/s up… UK … Cat 6 wired… Open NAT with port forwarding.

Anybody care to shed some light?

It seems to dynamically adjust the data rate (Between 1.5Mb/s to 2.5Mb/s) so in theory, there’s still plenty of room. Has anyone else noticed any bizarre behaviour?

The twitch app has some problems I’ve noticed with causing lag but it’s not near as bad as when you use a capture card. You might have just been host and with you steaming gave you a bit of an advantage.

Yea, the Xbox One cannot handle streaming and playing a game at the same time.

The connection does not lag, the Xbox itself lags. Pretty sad actually.

Anything that sucks bandwidth while you are playing, will indeed effect the connection in game. Twitch will effect the connection. This is most likely a major part of the problem they are having with keeping the mp playlists stable. The more people trying to run Twitch, the more unstable the games will be.

I hate that there is a twitch app now. Let people stream/record on their own dime, instead of adding in flawed features.
