Twitch drops FOMO

I think that the twitch drops shouldnt be a time sensitive thing. I think it would be better if they allowed you to earn the drops by watching the stream after the fact. (i.e. let us earn the drops without watching the event live)

I spent the past weekend with family without good internet access and i missed out on the drops. Now I feel like im really missing out because there relly arent that many avenues for free cosmetics.

They’ve been doing a lot of repeats of twitch drops as of late to help people who have difficulties viewing their content to earn them the first time they arrive. You’ll get it eventually, you just have to be patient.

Or you can just get twitch on your phone, and have it steam the event while your doing something. That’s what I do.

You’ll just have to do the formal one and wait for them to drop again is all.

Everything is FOMO for you guys uh?

Twitch is a free app… put it on and go back to what you’re doing. I have not watched a lick of these streams lol and have all the drops.

Man I’m almost using the default Spartan looks and I haven’t ever opened the Store to even know what it looks like, and all that hasn’t made any difference to me at all. Gaming life’s so much more peaceful this way.

FOMO isn’t real and it can’t hurt you.

I understand wanting to earn the Halo World’s drop’s. Keep your eyes peeled for another opportunity to earn the drops in the future. Twitch and 343i typically gives players second chances.

Good luck fellow Spartan.

That’s exactly what 343 wants to happen, I’m afraid.

The whole point is that you make time for the drops and buy store items as soon as possible so you have all the nice cosmetics and feel special when you have them and others don’t.

It’s designed this way. Bad luck.

Twitch drops for events are good IMO. It’s like getting free stuff (stickers, bobble heads, t-shirts) while going to a sporting event.

Even though I tend to just stream to my phone for drops, having drops for events is all about getting -Yoink!- in the seats.

I think they should keep doing it this way, but they do sometimes have repeats.

And even the bobbleheads are just for the first 10K to show up, and have limited quality per entrance.

They’ll repeat the drops though. I started my account in July and have unlocked 28 things including thing I know I missed, and I have doubles of a few others.

It’s not bad luck, it’s bad game design.

I think there’s been around 34 different drops.

14 of those (mostly the earliest ones) have been repeated at least once.

The latest ones haven’t been repeated yet but I think most of them will be.

I can understand why they want to give them away for watching it live rather than just tuning in some time down the line - makes it more of an event. It was pretty cool this weekend tuning in for the drops and seeing how many people were watching it.

Based on how they ended up re-releasing other Twitch drops over the course of the year, I bet you’ll get another chance at this round of cosmetics later.

It looks like as the year went on they started having the unlocks from watching past majors available as dropouts on partnered streams. Like the green and gold coating from the first major eventuality ended up being available multiple times through the year

Looks like I was wrong about the Championship drops that dropped. They’re still in the store even after the shop page update.

Don’t worry, even if you’d claimed them they wouldn’t have appeared in-game anyway because it’s broken.

Honestly more stuff should be exclusive and only obtainable in limited ways.

Exclusivity boosts value. I want rare stuff to show off sometimes. Something that looks awesome stops looking awesome when EVERYONE has it. The Diamond skins are already too common.

I like having stuff that came out right at the beginning and had to be earned somehow, or that came with promotional deals.

I’m not a strong proponent of handing out participation trophies for EVERYTHING

I wish they would indicate how rare something actually is kind of like they do with achievements. How many people unlocked the That One stance last week, for example?

See i agree with you, but i would prefer if there was exclusivity/rarity by like having a goal to reach. Currently, we dont have any content that says "i earned this by playing the game’

I miss the h5 achilles armor, that felt special to have

Without drops, Halo events wouldn’t break 10K viewers. So they’d have 0 sponsors.

In all fairness, the only FOMO in Halo I know about would be the HCS challenger armour in Halo 5 and I believe SGT Johnson in Halo 3 ODST (pre-order bonus and we technically have it now)

In Halo Infinite you have tons of FOMO. Weekly ultimates are one to look out for as they lock armour colours and armour pieces there. You have the store where if you don’t buy the armour you want whilst it’s available, then sorry it may never appear again. And now Twitch drops, which asks you to tune in to get more unlocks like armour colours, weapon skins, ect.

It’s the way Halo Infinite is built which leads to so much FOMO. If there was some kind of exchange available like in MCC then it wouldn’t be too bad.
