Twitch drops during HCS KC - another example of Europe being forgotten?

Anyone else slightly perplexed at the decision to make the final twitch drop of the weekend only start counting progress after midnight for most of Europe? I fully get it: that’s when the finals are expected and they want a good turnout in terms of viewership, therefore it makes total sense for that to be the time for an audience in North America.

However…

This continues the trend of European players being an afterthought: especially when it comes to partnerships. Most of Europe will be long asleep by the time we’re even allowed to earn credit to this and by the time Europe is awake the eligibility will be over.

European players and fans have already had to deal with;

  1. Not having access to the Halo TV Series at all as yet
  2. Missing (or receiving late) most of the promotional tie-ins
  3. Receiving Halo Gear late if at all - often at majorly inflated prices via resellers or just having to pay transatlantic shipping
  4. Often having to match with US players on US servers

We get that North America is Halo’s home and the main focus for promotional efforts will always be the US

This isn’t just a Halo problem, but a Microsoft problem in general

Their Surface hardware takes months to come to Europe, software such as Windows Subsystem for Android is testing for US only & recently they’ve been doing Game Pass perks for US exclusive streaming services, not to mention the US only Halo promotions

It would be appreciated if they’d consider more global-friendly promotions for Halo. ╰(‵□′)╯

Could not agree more. We do need a bit more equality in such matters

I can’t criticise 343 too much since they were the only company to bring in regional selection filters to MCC, something Bungie couldn’t be bothered to do for 10 years… but Halo has always had a problem with
holding the European/Australian player base.

Now MCC is just a lagfest of 100+ ping and bad team selections.

As others have said, this is a Microsoft issue.

They’ve never looked towards their European or Asian markets first. They always focus on the US market and everything else is an after thought if they get a thought at all.

There are some MS Studios which don’t do it though.

Hey,

I do not know where else to post this, but for the US, Twitch and HaloWaypoint API is messed up again with season 2 for the Victory Shout pose twitch reward.

I had a working twitch account link with multiple previously claimed rewards. I watched the stream, claimed the reward within twitch, noticed that twitch had halo has not connected, so I went and relinked my twitch and halo waypoint profile by unlinking and relinking. Twitch is now showing linked, twitch is also showing 343s api has connected, halowaypoint is showing my username as … and the rewards are showing at a checkbox but still not within redemption history.

So hopefully that makes Europeans not feel as bad.

Is that really just US? Thought that was an international issue?
