Is there a difference for gameplay?

not really, other then the size of things and resolution
As above mentioned, it’s just about preference and space really, don’t see many people put a huge TV on a desk.
Yeah their kinda the same in the end.
I find it easier to play on my 27 inch curved monitor then my 55 inch TV.
Less eye strain looking around on the screen. Via, radar, ammo and just paying attention to whats happening in game.
But! I do enjoy sitting on the couch playing as well.

it depends on the tv brand. i play on a 50 toshiba hd with some distance with no eye strain. i never used a curved screen so i do not know i would have problems, to throw in i waer glasses
I like a smaller size screen like a 24. I use to play on a projector and I almost got whiplash due to the amount of head movement lol
Comes down to personal preference, I play on a 43 Sony Bravia with 120hz frame rate. I don’t sit right on the screen but far enough away that I can focus on what I need to. I played on a smaller 27 monitor for a while but I prefer the larger tv to the monitor.

This. 27’ is the sweet spot and what pros use in tourneys if I’m not mistaken. I don’t use a desk though just a nice office chair and a TV stand I sit close to. Very comfy.
My my xsx sits right next to my tower, so its all together.
Well there could be a differences in gameplay depending which monster you have, like you can have a 144 hz 4k monster which is way better than a TV and provides smoother gameplay
a 144hz monitor is cheaper than a 144hz TV, and refresh rate does have an impact on gameplay.

Yes. TV’s / PC monitors have all kinds of refresh rate and sizes. A lot of TV’s have Low refresh rate. If you want to play completive you would need a PC monitor that has over 144hz or better and the size 24" or 27" would be the best. Here a website talking about about TV’s and PC monitors. Gave it a read and now I want a monitor. I currently have my -Yoink- 18" 60hz I’m using just to get my setup down. I want to try and have a set screen to seat distance ratio lol.

Here some more info for you so you can understand what you like to get Is A 144Hz Monitor Worth It? [Simple Guide] - DisplayNinja
if you don’t play completive I would get a 144hz 1m but if you have the money, like racing games and completive get a 240hz, more then a 240 is pointless unless your a pro player. Let me know if you need help on picking a monitor. Try to stay away from Samsung. I had lots of trouble with there new monitors and ASUS monitors are ok but there built in speakers are trash but if you need help picking let me know what your price range and ill help you out.
one thing that alot of people arent mentioning here is that TV’s usually do more back end work to make images look better introducing input delays from processing. since normally you are watching a movie or something and want it to look the best. But alot of newer TV’s have “game mode” where it bypasses that to give you a better feeling game.
personally I would go with samsung. been using them for years and havent had an issue I am using a Odyssey Neo G9 but all my friends use Odyssey G5’s of varying sizes. QA is hit or miss honestly but if you get one that works they are second to none. If for what ever reason you get a samsung CRG9, G9, or Neo G9 for the love of god buy a separate vesa certified DP1.4 cable.

Not really
Only real difference would be the price you pay for the same quality screen, but consider that your monitor screen doesn’t need to be as large as a TV with the same quality (smaller = cheaper) since you sit much closer to a monitor than your TV

The Goat is correct. You really can’t go wrong. A TV may run you more money in the long run because TVs nowadays are smart and have so many addons to it. I would say if you’re strictly gaming then you should go with a monitor.

Lmao im one of those people. With a 44 inch tv on my desk that barely fits with my xbox but its so thin its easy to have small stuff behind or in front of it so i dont mind
