My girlfriend bought me some turtle beach headphones for Christmas and I haven’t had the chance to use them in halo yet, ate they really good for halo 4? My friend used to always tell me get a pair back when we played reach & I’ve always just had the regular headset that comes with the Xbox until now. Any words?
Ive used TB’s and a fair few other headphones for the 360. I can say this with all honesty taht the TB’s are way over-priced. I have a pair of cans that cost £8 ($16) and they are fantastic for gaming without any faffing around. Compared directly to the TB’s there is zero audio quality difference between them. So imo its a complete waste of money to buy TB headphones.
As for gaming with headphones; Expect your GF to be pissed at you more often. Why? Because you will end up ignoring her more and more while gaming without realising. Fact of life.
Headphones in general are much better period.
A better choice would be a dolby decoding device and a higher end pair of sennheiser headphones.
Turtle Beach and Astros are pretty much bottom of the barrel in price-to-quality ratio.
The only thing i can compare TB too is my mad catz AMPX(the part where the audio part broke due to an accident) The AMPX where louder and didn’t need battery.
Better question, what kind of TB you have?

The sound for Halo 4 is AMAZING through my X41’s.
I gots expensive surround sound turtles. AWESOME in SWAT!
XL1 will not do much.
I have the X11 and they are perfect. Sound quality is awesome. The mic is great. Love em!
headphones are pretty useless when your teammates never talk
I like my Turtle Beach’s, helps me hear enemies in SWAT.
They are also light and comfy and the inline sound control for voices and game sound is a nice feature. They also work good for watching tv and movies.
