Make it so you can turn off sprint in Campaign and Spartan Ops. Though I can choose not to push the sprint-button, I don’t like to see other people sprint in my game. To be honest, I get pissed off to even know you are able to sprint in there.
If I can play all parts of the game (Multiplayer, Forge, Custom game, Campaign, Spartan Ops) without sprint, the game will feel much more Halo to me. It will feel just like the old days, for those who want that.
It gets you through it faster, so I’m fine with it. I think there are probably more people who would prefer to have it in Campaign/Spartan Ops instead of Multiplayer. There’s not much you can do about it, though. It’s just how the game is gonna be.

Don’t Sprint and tell your friends not to Sprint.
Have fun explaining to them why you don’t want them to Sprint though.

Agreed.
Sprint+long kill times+ Defensive AA’s+Spread/Bloom its gets to be way too much and it makes the game not feel or play like Halo.
Faster default movement speeds ala H2 and maps to scale is really all Halo needed, but I digress at least sprint will be tolerable in H4 due to increased kill times and the slow-down effect when shot.
It wouldn’t be hard for 343 to make a simple option. When people say stupid things as if they know whats going to happen and there is nothing we can do about it, it really pisses me off. There is still plenty of time to add small features like this. Stop acting like you control whats going in to the game.

You are the biggest Halo purist I have ever seen on these forums. I mean come on, turn off sprint in Campaign and Spartan Ops??? I don’t know why you are against sprint so much. I could understand not having sprint in Multiplayer for some people but really? Having sprint in Campaign and Spartan Ops shouldn’t get you pissed at all. It doesn’t even ruin the gameplay in those modes. Holy crap that is the funniest request I’ve seen so far.

Those who prefer classic Halo shouldn’t even get Halo 4 then.

Actually I’m pretty sure the campaign is done and they’re just fine tuning it. (At least, that’s what I remember hearing.)
And considering sprint is a feature in the game, we don’t know what the campaign entails. It’s entirely possible that it will be necessary to complete the game. Sure, it might not be, but adding a “toggle sprint off” option is kind of pointless since you could just not click the stick to run to avoid that.

That would be the majority of the Halo fan-base, seeing as how most people prefer the Trilogy to Reach and Reach was the self-professed “Spin-off”.

It could be an option directly from the in game controls menu. When you get somewhere you need sprint, you just quickly toggle it on again. A bit off topic, but I’d rather use the LB to sprint. Using the stick to sprint, is just not right, this is Halo.
