Can we turn off reset shield recharge while sprinting cos people don’t wanna wait for an extra 5 seconds everytime just for our shields to recharge. If we turn it off we would be more ready for every battle we come across cos our health will be full like the classic game. Have a match with ur friends and it off under sprint and try it out trust me it’s a lot better in my opinion. Do not alter the Sheilds they are fine it’s just the recharge reset thing. I want that in arena because it wI’ll play and feel like the classic halo games. I have saved a custom gametype called classic, try it out with ur friends

I am torn on this… on one hand there really shouldn’t be a reason why shields can’t recharge while sprinting but game play wise it does help balance out sprint as you won’t necessarily make it to cover after making what could have been a tactical mistake.

Yea right okay. If we have old shields back it will be fair then wouldn’t it more fair battles and have a better advantage… How many times have you sprinted around with low health right and then you just get one shotted that’s happened to me a lot so u don’t think it would be bette if we can have our shields recharge while sprinting ?
Maybe thats why Kat died… Her shields didn’t recharge when she was running for the door. LOL I’m okay with shields not recharging while sprinting.
IMO the new shields make the game a lot better

That’s why I don’t like the way 343 put sprint into this game, it revolves around everything. Shield recharge, Cover on a map, weapon range, Spartan charge, and more.
I think shields not recharging while sprinting is great. In halo 4 someone could lose a gunfight, realize they were near death and without any strategic thinking sprint away to cover. In halo 5 using sprint to retreat takes more forethought because you will either be finished off by the enemy you were losing to for foolishly running away or a different enemy will take you out, again for running away. This change is excellent because it makes skill a bigger difference maker, if a bad player can run away every damn time he starts to lose, like in halo 4, it can become very frustrating. I liked halo 4 but 343 clearly tried to reduce the skill gap and make the game overly casual. Halo 5 might have made it overly competitive at least and release but I think halo 5 multiplayer with non- recharging shields while sprinting is a much better game.

Think about it this way. Look how high rated halo mc collection is compaired to halo 5 ? Why is it great for shields not to recharge while sprinting ? Losing a gun fight in halo 4 and they forgot to find cover is their own fault ? in all the halos I played I found cover a lot more than halo 5 . A player ain’t gunna run all the time won’t he it gives advantage to that player to get his shield back faster. And it’ll even the game out cos everyone will have full shield mostly before battle. I wanna be able to sprint a lot more and not worry about getting one shotted by a guy with a pistol everytime I do. I know that will still happen but it’ll happen less
Ummn shields don’t recharge because the Mjolnir gen 2 armour is diverting resources into powering thruster sprint, there’s a reason why the armour mod improved thrusters allows you to recharge shields.
In Halo 5 the time to fully recharge and the time to start recharging is fastest in all the Halo’s and compared to Halo 4 you shield strength is pretty much the same however health is lower to suit Halo 5 multiplayer.
Nope I like the new shields better. It makes the game more about figuring out how to escape and less about just running. Any addition making the game require more skill is a welcome addition to me. It also helps balance out sprint.

Simple concept, don’t sprint when your shields are down. It creates balance because you can’t shoot while running, so it’s not really fair if someone sprints away from you to save themselves from a losing gunfight. Other than that, the “old shields” are exactly the same as the “new” ones.

Being capable of sprinting away while having your shields recharge can cause issues. If it was done in arena that’d make it the same thing as Halo 4, and I personally detested the multiplayer in Halo 4. The sprinting being just one of the many reasons as to why. In warzone it isn’t as much of a problem because it is a casual playlist, and it even has a armor upgrade which allows this within Warzone matches. So we need to figure out where exactly you want shields to change, because it can’t fit in an Arena setting.

I think there should be a middle ground: instead of the recharge timer resetting every time you sprint, the timer should only pause. For example, say it takes 5 seconds for the shield to start to recharge and you wait four of those seconds before you start to sprint. In the current game, once you stop sprinting you will have to wait an additional 5 seconds for your shield to start to recharge. However, in my version, you only have to wait one second because the game realized you already waited four.
No, it was too easy to run away from a bad play in H4 and it was a big problem. It was too forgiving and there were too many meaningless encounters where someone just ran away when they were losing a fight.
That’s the whole reason it’s the way it is in H5 in the first place.
