I mean playlists are a game design. Just encourage 343 to allow selection of specific modes instead of turning off the mechanic that discourages players from abandoning their team
Then there should be no banning for quitting. Period.
Having a player leave partway and hoping someone else loads in time still hurts a team
Having a player who doesn’t want to play leave partway and loading someone else in does not hurt the team.
If you dont wanna play dont click big team battle.
That’s stupid. Just put in a match composer and a veto system so people can play what they want.
see the ability to filter what modes you wanna play I think is fine. But quitting because its not what you want is unfair to the other players. Instead of trying to get them to turn off bans ask 343 to add a gametype filter
Tell me your a selfish self entitled a-hole without telling me your a selfish self entitled a-hole
OP does ask for this.
I’ll repeat: if you have to have a quit ban system in the game, you are only addressing a symptom. Not a problem. Fix the problems that are causing players to quit. Don’t ban them because you’re too incompetent to identify or solve the problems.
I always hope it leads to a ban, so I can be more comfortable knowing that I hopefully won’t have him infecting any more of my matches for a while.
you know for all the weirdos in this thread complaining that anyone would EVER leave a match they don’t want to play, maybe y’all should instead direct your energy toward asking for a matchmaker where people can ACTUALLY CHOOSE THE MODES THEY WANT TO PLAY? I’m -Yoink!- sick of dealing with the most degenerate, cowardly -Yoink!- oddball players
and MAYBE they shouldn’t give us challenges that require vehicles that only appear on one -Yoink!- map and then give us no option to queue for that specific mp huh?
Rational and common problem, bad solution. We don’t need to remove the ramifications of quitting, we need to push for individual playlists and cross play toggles.
:]
I mean the system of quit bans would still be needed even if the filter is in. Regardless of game type people still leave mid match and that hurts a team. I think both the current system and the proposed gametype filter system together allow for as better design
Why? Games like COD, Battlefield have never needed quit bans.
It’s not a necessary system.
Halo’s not Cod or Battlefield… So that’s pretty irrelevant…
I mean cold war does at least for competitive. Im not saying it needs to be an intense ban system. If a player leaves 1 random match maybe they had to go early. If they leave matches on a regular basis they are causing a negative impact.
That’s not an argument. We’re talking about identical systems. Match composer, social gameplay, join in progress.
Do it right and you don’t ever need quit bans. Do it wrong, and you need quit bans.
I’m not talking about ranked. Neither is OP.
Ironically, your comment is a good argument for why 343 should definitely keep banning people for quitting big team lol.
Yeah im saying a less harsh ban punishment system should be on casual matches but a stricter one on comp.
It is irrelevant, they don’t play remotely the same and people leaving matches have a significantly higher impact on Halo matches then those.
They actually experimented with join and progress in one of the previous games and it was reverted almost immediately. It didn’t work then, and it’d be no different now.
Abandonment penalties are a necessary evil that will not be going away.
