Tu vs Vanilla: vote here

I’ve noticed something very upsetting while playing Team Slayer the past two weeks. I play with a mic, right? Well almost NOBODY that I’ve played with knew what TU meant, so I had to spend most of the game explaining what TU actually was. This is very distressing. Because most of the time TU slayer doesn’t get picked, the people in the game say “well, it’s because I don’t know what TU is, and I know that normal Slayer is cool so I chose Slayer.” I actually started polling people with mics on whether or not they knew what TU was, and 78% of players didn’t even know what TU slayer was! That means that people may not even know what’s good for them! I honestly think that 343 should set up a poll ON THE FORUMS where people vote on whether we should switch to TU or not. Because, most of the people on the forums read the bulletins, and they know what the TU did, and frankly they know the game better than other people. I think that allowing the Waypoint users to vote would produce much more desired results, and allow us to enjoy the game better.

They need to require everyone to watch a video explaining what the TU is before they can play their first game after the March playlist update. Problems solved.

I doubt people will pay attention.

Reach is just boring. Nothing can save it. It was broken on release. They took too long slowly releasing the TU for each play list to test what the players of each play list wanted. Now it’s just boring.

Actually people should go into the voting not knowing what it is. Eventually they will decide for themselves what feels better, regardless of any preconceptions and any propaganda from either camp. I think this is called a single blind study.

Also you expect a forum poll here to be fair? lol. This site is stuffed with reach haters.

Press Y to skip would need to be disabled. “Y IS IT NO SKIPPING?!?!? WTFBBQ 343 BUNGEE FIXURSHIT RAWR”

I have experienced this too, its ironic when I explain that the TU is a result of a new companies desire to fix what Bungie had left broken, their normal response= “How is Reach broken?”

> This is very distressing.

With you there =/

> Because most of the time TU slayer doesn’t get picked, the people in the game say “well, it’s because I don’t know what TU is, and I know that normal Slayer is cool so I chose Slayer.”

Dont forget that the wildly popular TU had its own playlist, with advertisement months ago, has been forced into other playlist, its not popular, because most people playing Reach are happy enough with the product to continue playing till Halo 4.

I have found, even when they find out, they are still uninterested.

> That means that people may not even know what’s good for them!

This is my very favorite sentence out of the whole post, thats awesome LOL

Forums represents a very small portion of the population and one that has a very different outlook on Halo than those that dont visit forums. 343 should not push this decision on anyone else but themselves and when they are done with whatever decision they will make, make it, be done with, lets stop dragging this on.

> Because, most of the people on the forums read the bulletins, and they know what the TU did, and frankly they know the game better than other people.

Knowing more about Halo or mechanics should not mean those that are not as informed should have their product changed to a minorities preference, not a good way to run a business. Frankly, 343 should have just decided for themselves, if these settings are superior, then they will justify themselves.

> I think that allowing the Waypoint users to vote would produce much more desired results, and allow us to enjoy the game better.

For the people on Waypoint, sure, but the initial transition is not complete yet, that type of consumer representation will not be on Waypoint until the release of Halo 4.

Very few have ever even been to the forums or know they even exist.
Everyone should be made to do a one time vote before being allowed into matchmaking, this would be a truly accurate vote. Instead of 2 weeks of poor map choices methinks

While that would be the smartest, and fairest course of action (Left 4 Dead 2 had weekly polls on the main menu screen for a while), and it would leave the fate of the game in the hands of the people that play it consistently, as OP said, very few people that play out of the hundreds of thousands daily know/care about the TU. The settings wouldn’t get voted in, so the natural fall back is a stacked and biased voting format.

I have to say Vanilla Reach, but only because the TU isn’t living up to its full potential. 343 is adressing people who whine about things (and who don’t suggest alternative methods). For example, they nerfed the duration of Camo because of “Camo Snipers”. Why? How will that stop people from Camo Sniping? My suggestion: Perfect Cloak for five seconds. That way, people using Camo will be forced to move, rather than stay in one spot. Also, after the anniversary playlist, where every new map was broken by Jetpack (All power weapons on higher levels, no roofs), I lost my faith in 343 so much, I hardly play Reach anymore. If 343 would actually listen to valid, constructive arguments rather than mindless rage-whining, the TU could be the best thing to happen to Reach’s multiplayer. As it stands, it isn’t. Also forcing it into other playlists was a bad idea because the people who played the other playlists didn’t care for the TU. There should be seperate playlists like there was before. There’s nothing wrong with creating a TU playlist set while leaving Vanilla Reach alone. That way, everyone gets what they want. Me, I just wish 343 would go with intelligent suggestions rather than the ignorance the internet is known for.

TU over that garbage Vanilla Reach.
