I cannot for the life of me understand why more people are not upset about TU. IT HAS COMPLETELY RUINED HALO: REACH. It needs no explanation. TU Slayer, TU itself it absolute trash. Shoot, melee, dead. Precision weapons and nothing else! AR, shotgun, needler, anything else completely useless. People with jetpacks can fly around all day, wherever they please. The jetpack instantly starts to refuel after letting go of the armor ability button, but deflecting a grenade with armor lock is “over powered.” All TU Slayer is, is a melee, grenade, and precision weapon fest. Bleedthrough is absolutely rage worthy, INFURIATING. They make us die faster and ban you if you get upset and leave the game because your team is getting slaughtered. I don’t even feel like a Spartan anymore. What good are shields, if you get shot in the head or meleed and die, IF YOU STILL HAVE SHIELDS?!?! It makes NO sense!!! This is NOT Halo: Reach!!! Stop changing everything about a game we’ve been playing for ten years and trying to make it your own game, 343!!! Bungie made this game, NOT YOU.
Dude, breathe deep and calm down. Raging about the TU 9 years after its inception isn’t worth popping a blood vessel over. Unless you limited your Halo Reach gametime up until 2011, this should be an issue at this point.
You’d be correct that 343 made the majority of the playlists TU settings, but they were going for uniformity in social instead of having a mix pot with a variety of settings like the original game. It’s true Bungie made the game, but 343 have been managing it for the majority of its lifetime on the 360 which included them adding the TU settings around a year after Reach’s original release. On the plus side for you, they made AR starts more prominent in social Slayer.
I find the problem comes from introducing a big change like this 2 years into the game’s life cycle, think if Treyarch decided to make a similar change to Black Ops’ multiplayer mechanics 2 years from it’s release…I don’t think that’d sit too well with their fan base.
I, for one, personally favour Vanilla (at the very least dislike bleedthrough) and if you look through the threads you’ll still see there’s a divide between TU and Vanilla preferences. Most of those threads have the most responses indicating such divide, aside from the more obvious matters like the DMR starts which have been fixed now (thanks 343!). I only play and have gotten used to TU settings cause I’m just grinding to get my old armour config back.
Happy to keep the armour lock and grenade nerf, but would like to see an option for people to play what they want, hopefully we’ll see that in the coming weeks.
You can change it from 4v4 to 1v1 in the match composer. That’s the only social playlist that has no bloom or armor abilities that I know of. Other than that there is the MLG playlist.

Hold up I swear the Bleedthrough wasn’t this bad on the XBOX 360 even after the 2nd TU.
Shouldn’t it at least be 3 shots and a melee to take down someone who started with full shields? (Granted the RED player has around 25%-35% shield so it makes sense he went down after a shield pop and a melee).

I’m pretty sure it’s the same as it was in the TU playlists in OG Reach.
