TU ruins Reach Multiplayer

Thanks bro.

I like the TU. They should take bleed through out cause its terrible though. Default reach fixed the problems bleed through caused in the past and now its back to being super inconsistent and terrible.

-Take bleed through out of TU
-Apply TU across all playlists (except for 1 or 2 separate vanilla playlists)
-Rename all TU gametypes their default name opposed to “TU slayer”. (so basically a TU slayer would be called slayer)

This is a good idea in my opinion.

The mechanics that were present in other Halo game aren’t necessarily the answer to Reach.

The highlighted portion is what I really take issue with Eshcka. Bare that in mind as you read through my ramblings since then.

As a matter of opinion, you’re welcome to like any Halo more or less than another.

As a matter of FACT though, Reach was built to be the Swan Song of Halo and return to the mechanics which made franchise popular.

That is why the game looks/behaves/feels as it does.

What really makes me lol though, is that most things players are complaining about, run, jump ect ect, Reach offers more than it’s competitors in terms of how to customize these things.

So Reach is more like CE than H2/H3 ever were AND you can have your cake by customizing the settings to feel like those other LESS Halo titles if you really wanted to.

If this game gives you everything you want and more… I’m sorry, I have to ask but, How is Reach not the best Halo yet?

Why do games evolve? Why won’y you answer this question?

> How is Reach not the best Halo yet?

Because I don’t like it as much as I like the others. My opinion.

Remember when everybody hated Bungie and praised 343 for the upcoming Title Update? Ha…

Yes…I remember those times too Sighs

Dude i remember when everyone was disgusted with halo 2 and were going back to CE ಠ_ಠ

So I take it this entire thing going on right now is pretty much a loop hole thats been goin on for the past decade or so?

It’s pretty obvious that people view things much more fondly after it’s gone. For example, people view Bill Clinton and, especially, Geoge W. Bush more positively after their terms have ended. I’m sure everyone will hail Reach’s Armor Lock and Bloom as precious artifacts of greatness after Halo 4 releases…

Given the trends, more than likely. Anyway, I wouldn’t say the TU ruined Reach, it just has some problems that need to be addressed as soon as possible.

> > Can i suggest that rather than aimlessly biting off eachothers heads over who “might” be right, we should uniformly request that 343i offer two sets of playlists: those with TU settings( they can continue to work out any issues without vanilla players complaining) and an original reach set( no TU changes whatsoever). That way we can each play.the games we enjoy without the influence of the other.

> I see your point and agree, but 343 apparently doesn’t want two separate community’s, so if that’s the case, than they are going to force both community’s to play the same game eventually. Playlist by playlist they will probably replace all of the regular Reach game-types with the TU ones.

Which is why many people (me included) protested against the tu as I had no problem with vanilla reach except for swordblock. But no many of the people that wanted the tu keep using the ‘’ if you don’t like the changes you can still play vanilla reach’’ excuse in their arguments. Well guess what now we can’t we either have to A: be forced to play the tu changes even though we want reach not halo 3.5. B: not play at all or C: play customs for the rest of reaches existance. Well thanks tu worshipers now we who actually enjoyed reach are forced to play the tu instead of having a choice. I knew this would happen since the tu was announced and now it is apparantly happening. I just hope halo 4 stays consistant with its default gameplay and not pull this crap of adding new gameplay mechanics and then have it override the origianal default gameplay like they are now doing to reach.

Yes totally. Round and round and round it goes, where it stops nobody knows.

Yeah, kinda makes you wonder what would happen if they made a game, and left it the way was. Of course a different group of people would be mad because it would be getting boring. Anything you do is going to make someone mad. Everybody has a different opinion on what things should be.

Gosh, I didn’t know 343 was FORCING you guys to play the very few playlist with the TU settings!

> Gosh, I didn’t know 343 was FORCING you guys to play the very few playlist with the TU settings!

There is no other way to regularly play Anniversary maps, so yes, in essence they are “forcing” me if I want to play games using my Anniversary map pack. What’s worse is I have to play Anniversary game types or quit (which is against my principles) when they are chosen instead of a TU game type.

They definitely need to fix anniversary squad. The maps issue would be easily fixed if they would require DLC. Otherwise we will rarely see these maps anywhere but the anniversary playlists, which is silly because there are many ways to play reach now.

Agree completely.

> if reach is so similar to ce, explain to me were does AA’s, diminished run speed and bloom comes from? These have nothing to do with halo ce. The only thing reach was good for was to cater to casual gamers. your argument makes no sense at all as if you play halo cea you will see that it is more similar to H2 or 3 then reach. Even reach’s shield system had nothing to do with CE.Therefore your argument makes no sense and i have no idea if you even played CE

CE had 103% the run speed of Reach. So Reach’s “severely reduced run speed” compared to CE is only 3%! Like Guywired said, the AAs and Bloom were innovations that Reach added. With tweaks Reach can play very well competitive-wise (MLG). But not in it’s current state (Arena).
