TU Ruins Hammer

Well they definatly screwed up with bleedthrough, its just too much damage. Last night had my 1st TU game with a hammer on the map.
I love the hammer and im #1 in the world for btb hammer kills but now its pretty much useless since about 3 ar shots and a punch can beat it. WTFF?
I got killed a couple of times when I should have definatly had the kill.

Bleedthrough does way too much damage and ruins the game.

What map over than Powerhouse actually has a hammer on it lol.

also, I know that you’re a hammer pro and everything, but honestly, I’ve seen the PR used more to kill people than I’ve seen the hammer (and I have like 5000 games on Reach). I honestly can recall 2 games where I saw someone using the hammer or Powerhouse. The thing was always a pretty big piece of crap, not to mention it was on like 2 maps. I know all you TU-haters want to use this to support why the TU sucks, but for 99% of the population this is such a trivial matter that I really don’t think it holds much ground. Not to mention you’ll never convince us otherwise; it’s 343 you’re trying to convince, who has far more knowledge about the game than all of us put together, so you better shout long and loud and find enough people to shout with you if you want a chance of being heard (I know from personal experience when it came to Bungie’s way of running Reach).

I like hammer being under powered.
IMO it should be:
shotty > sword > hammer
utility > shotty
sword > utility

lol … the game is ruined because some dude who used to be a pro at hiding in the towers on Abridged and hammering noobs is getting owned by bleedthrough.

I prefer zero bloom, but I’m ok with it being 85%. At least now it’s bearable to play Reach.
So yeah… your argument is wrong.

All gametypes with bleedthrough applied should have melee damage lowered to a point where you have to strip shields for a melee to kill.

Yeah it should only bleedthrough when you have about 10%-20% shields, atm it seems more than 50% which is way way too much. How did they not realise this with testing?

I support this. 75% or 50% melee damage.

I agree with this. Though if a person is hit in the back it should still be a kill.
Before it was a double melee game, now it feels almost like 3 pops and a melee.
I think part of the problem with melee is how far you can lunge with it. I think if a person gets into melee range they should pay for it. but the lunge should be half the distance it is. Same with sword. W/o sword block, the lunge needs to be a little less. Couple with the increase in lag due to a smaller population, it feels like they can lunge half the map!

Played a bunch more TU last night and bleedthrough is definatly way too high. I swear its more than 50% sheilds.
I hate the TU simply for bleedthough and I was looking forward too bleedthrough. They done goofed up big time.

Do you consider yourself special for running around with sprint and the hammer?

Sorry that the most overpowered tactic in any halo game is now nerfed :frowning:

Yah, Sprint makes the hammer and sword way too effective.

And making the melee damage at 50%-75% would help A LOT!! Your fist shouldn’t be that effective. It should be 3 punches to kill (or something like that).

They should have just carried on with Halo 4 and saved themselves the bother. Very few competitives actually bother with Reach anymore. And without a ranking system their efforts are for nothing anyway. Of course adding a ranking system would mean them admiting arena failed. Which will never happen.
