The “BIG” Title Update just happened in Halo4. Many of us thought it was going to change the game a lot. Like things people would actuallly care about and see its difference… Thats not the case, here is some of the things they left out.
-
Warthog - After the thousands of complaints about how bad it is, I thought 343 would do something… I guess not.
-
Weapon Balancing - They didn’t even look at this. The only thing they did was shorten the range on the Boltshot.
-
More Progression Ranks - Many people are stuck at SR-130, I thought they would add more levels, but I guess that is just too much to ask for.
-
1-50 - I know this was not suppose to go in and suppose to come out next month, but come on!!! The game has been out for almost half a year!!
IDK if they stated that the first TU was going to be for bug fixes or not but overall it must of been necesarry Considering the amount of bugs and stuff that plauged people what weve seen in the Halo 4 section is only the Halo 4 section where we discuss Halo 4 this dosent cover the issues or bugs and stuff plus considering its a game there running it would be stupid to not fix the bugs first but its still kind of dumb that they didnt implement at least 3 major changes to the update with DMR and stuff. They bascially fixed 1 of the 3 main gripes that people have with the game at this moment so overall its not incredibally bad as people are putting bugs always come before balanceing i guess :/. Also i didint know halo 4 was out for almost 12 months or that we were judging the game’s TU speed by dog years.
The first TU update is meant for bug fixes while The next one in april is supposed to feature weapon re-balancing
> The first TU update is meant for bug fixes while The next one in april is supposed to feature weapon re-balancing
HA if that is true halo is long dead before April.
I watch water boil and snail racing, more entertaining than 343 progress.
If it weren’t for this TU, we would still have a few custom game option glitches, in game glitches and OP boltshot. Yes, they DID miss out though few things, doesn’t mean they are gonna miss them out next time round.
> Gameplay
> • Reduced the range of the Boltshot’s damage scaling over distance. The previous effective range for 1-hit kills was around 20-25’. The range has been reduced to 15’.

Please purchase the War Games Map Pass, purchase the Map Pack individually, or delete the Map Pack content from your console.”

Only the ignorant would call an extensive list of fixes like this “pointless”.
if ordinance is only used as a way to deliver AA’s to the spartans on the battle field everything else just needs to revert back to Halo 1-3’s style also AAs will be spawned on the map but they will be specific to said maps like equipment. Running will probably have to stay its not much of an issue in gamemodes with no insta respawn. I’m working on a gamemode that mimics this What do you guys think ?

haha “extensive list”, “pointless”. “fixes”
I find your ignorance and lack of the matter posting such a useless post. Citing articles to make you sound like you’re on key doesn’t make you sound smart at all.
I can cite a thousand bullets of “issues” that surpass a post count. Problem? lots.
> The first TU update is meant for bug fixes while The next one in april is supposed to feature weapon re-balancing
This isnt the first TU update, it is the second. The first fixed a few bugs like the super grenade throw.

Do it.

Challenge not accepted. Better things to do with my time. You’re smart enough to find it, and the problems are all there so I don’t need to prove it. Go battle and pick fights with people that are stuck on your low level.
For that matter, I’m not going to argue since the mods/admins will jump in and break up the fight you would harshly lose to. Chin up, kid.

While I would have liked the TU to have more changes regarding balancing, I can say that I am quite happy with it so far. Not only are some serious glitches/exploits/annoyingness fixed, but the Bolthot balancing feels really good now. You can still kill with it, but it’s not the death machine it used to be.

This wasn’t the "BIG’ TU. This was a minor one that had to fix basic malfunctions and issues. It wasn’t meant to upgrade vehicles. Maybe in a future one, though.
-
Which helped a lot! I barely see boltshots now (thank God!).
-
Yeah, that is a lot to ask, actually. It’s not easy to add new unlockables which have to be scripted into the game to be able to create new ranks. They can’t possibly do that in 3 months and a half.
-
A number is definitely NOT more important than the issues that are already in the game. You said it yourself, weapons and vehicles need balancing. That’s a LOT more important. Also, we need the competitive playlists first before we can use that number.
OP and everyone like you, please don’t always look from only one angle, but instead look at things from other angles which aren’t always yours.
well i can remember 343i said that the first update was for bug fixing and this update here should atually be a bigger TU with more sandbox related fixes/tweaks.
It’s the same with the cinema feature. First they said they can build anything into the game later. And suddenly they have no plans for campaign/SO theater anymore, leaving a lot of people/fans here disappointet.
So one question: can’t they at least TELL us when they change plans or what kind of things they are going to add/won’t add? Is that too hard to speak with the community? Why making us false hopes for the thater first when they announced later that they have no plans for it anymore? What’s the point? Why always these empty “promises”?
What you want and what the game needs are two different things, op. Anyway, more TUs to come, and 343 have been quicker with their TUs (notice the plural) than Bungie ever was with theirs.
By the way, by my calculation it’s only been 117 days since Halo 4 released. That’s not nearly half a year, it’s closer to a third.
(huh, 117 days, we should celebrate or something)
There have been hints at balance changes in the future.
Of course though, it all has to be kept a secret for some reason.

Ok, Mr. “I’m Better Than You”.
"I find your ignorance and lack of the matter posting such a useless post." - Explain to me how exactly is quoting 343’s given list of fixes for this TU is in any shape or form “ignorance” and ignoring that they have fixed many bugs and glitches earlier than any other Halo TU is not? Explain to me how informing the ignorant few about the actual work 343 has been doing is in any way “useless”? Oh wait, you can’t. All you’re doing is grasping at straws and attempting to find things to complain about.
Instead of pulling -yoink!- out of my -yoink!- I’m citing relevant information based on the topic at hand. So please, the next time you want to belittle relevant information taken from a legitimate source, try harder.

At first when I read this forum I thought, meh OP could just have got the wrong image of the TU. Then I saw him replying to a perfectly well made argument by a poster with the majesty of a 3 year old. Please just stop playing this game OP, go and play CoD, it’s more suited to your age group.
