Does this mean that we can’t play with no bloom until october when the playlist comes out?
In customs obviously. But I’m sure they will add it to classic, as that is a playlist that is currently available.
Yeah… I’d appreciate it if 343 would upload a few gametypes for us to test before the beta hoppers… or just like added it to our list of gametypes we have now (ie after the update you now have Slayer with bloom set to 50%, 0%, and 85% or w.e idk… umm ha feeling really dumb right now >.<
My guess is that we will get the Title Update late september which is within the next month so im super excited for it and can hardly anticipate it. This means 343i will most likely put out the TU then release a few gametypes so that us as players can play all kinds of custom games online and on LAN and test out the Title Update before it is released into any kind of matchmaking. This makes me excited because these new settings will bring back hyper competitive gameplay with the fixes to bloom and some of the AA’s. The only reason customs aren’t as popular in Reach is because of all the gameplay mechanic flaws that exist in Reach. The TU will eliminate all those flaws and allow us to have a fun we have never had with Reach.
Once Beta Hoppers is released in October, Our community will have so much time with the TU and the gametypes that we will all as a community be able to decide what settings are MatchMaking approved and then implemented by 343i into the Anniversary Playlists and the Classic Playlists by over testing multiple variants that 343i issues into the playlists. Voting patterns of players etc.
That doesn’t make any sense at ALL…
We get the TU downloaded into our games, final… changes… all that. But the Hopper is a MONTH after we already have the TU?
I think you mean the HOPPER comes in September and the TU comes in October…

His info is correct, we wont get to experience the changes of the TU until October.

The TU will probably be in late September, and the beta hoppers will be in early October.
Sounds like a lot of people are looking forward to the Title Update as I am. And it looks that beta hoppers not be available until Oct or Nov.
Thinking this will be a great site to utilize for custom games. I did not make this site so I can not take credit for it. But I will say it looks to be a great Reach site for custom games.

It depends. Some of the effects of the TU effect the entire game (the removal of sword blocking is one example). Other things, such as bloom reduction or removal, are local to gametypes.
On topic: Just because the TU is in September and the Beta Hoppers is in October does not mean they are a month apart. Its possible the TU will be late September, and the Hopper playlist is early October. Two different months, but not a month apart.

Exactly. They would only be a few weeks apart but no longer than a month from when the Title Update releases to us, Beta hoppers will release early in the next month. Meaning we get to play around via custom games and get used to the settings and such. Personally… Im going to throw epic LAN partys until Beta Hoppers releases.
That doesn’t make any sense though. You’d figure they would release both at the same time.
And also, they keep saying they are using beta hoppers as a way to shape up how the mp will look by the time cea comes out.
Does this mean if a bunch of people are on here, twitter, etc. saying they actually want bloom, that we will not have an actual 0% bloom playlist, but rather a 70% or 80% bloom playlist?

They are going to look at our feedback here, and how the voting goes in-game to decide what is actually implemented into regular matchmaking. It was said several times during the multi-player panel at PAX that you will see how much more reliable the DMR is with 15% less bloom, so you never know what may happen.
Beta Hoppers? Apparently I’m the only one in the dark on this.

Basically a playlist where we can test the TU changes. (No Bloom, nerfed AL/AC, 3SK Magnum, etc.) And they’re going to get the feedback from there (us playing), and from us posting here on the forums.
I was pretty sure that 343i meant that they will be releasing the TU in September (allowing the use of TU aspects in new “classic” playlists they created) and the Beta Hoppers came in October (to give everyone a taste of the Halo CEA maps).
Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought that is what they were driving at…

A beta for the beta?
Is it understood what the beta is meant to do? It’s meant to control the data stream of the new mechanics to enure they are working properly over XBL before official release.
It will limit but not remove the “OMG you changed it and Fed it up. What were you thinking.” Because the changes are either a) a variant that is seeking approval, b) changes that will be implemented if the code works as intended in the grand scope.
