TU gametypes, Halo itself

TU Gametypes are a shadow of former Halo. I can’t stand them. THIS IS HALO. Enemies aren’t meant to die so quickly. It’s noobish. All the new Haloist think it’s the best thing in the world because it’s much more simple to kill steal, or even get kills at all!! Halo is about Firefights. They’re meant to be challenging. So all I see is a game that is slowly trying to become more like others. WE, THE REAL HALO FANS, ALREADY LOVE THE GAME. Please don’t make such absurd changes. Btw, I never see headhunter in team objective anymore. Was it taken out??

While I agree with you I don’t mind people playing a Zero Bloom or SWAT playlist. Frankly, these gametypes existing support my idea of what made Halo great.

What I don’t like is a lot of players trying to force those settings into other playlists. Alienating the Halo fans even more by forcing them to play their way. It would be like if CoD suddenly updated their game and it was nothing but Sniper battles.

Wrong forum, dude. This is the Halo 4 forums where we blindly talk about things and act like we know what 343i is doing. I would recommend putting this thread in either the Halo Reach forums or the Matchmaking forums.

I can’t stand the TU gametypes either. The Magnum kills unbelievably quickly, it might be just about defendable if it took 3 headshots, but 2 bodyshots and a melee/headshot? Anybody can do that, and at that fire rate, it just doesn’t work.

You’re right. I didn’t notice. I’ll repost this.

And yeah, the settings are ridiculous

I’m going to repost the same way you did.

While I do think some of the original settings need to be fixed, none are so extreme as to completely limit the game.

Decreasing the kill times is a good thing for Halo, especially in Reach.

Are you crazy?? That isn’t what Halo is. If you want to kill your enemies quickly, with any weapon, GO PLAY COD. OR BATTLEFIELD. HALO ISN’T (OR AT LEAST SHOULDN’T BE) THAT TYPE OF GAME.

I hate how people claim to be ‘‘real halo fans’’

Its not an argument

It’s an intrinsic part of the No True Scotsman logical fallacy, and one thing this forum loves is using logical fallacies as arguments.

What Halo game did you start with? TU gametypes have about the same kill times as Halo 2. Default Reach kill times are unbearably slow due to factors like the broken bloom system and sprint.

Really? why all this hatin’ on reach…and bloom isn’t broken, nor is sprint; sprint even is quite effective at times.

99% of Reach-hating comments boil down to this.

^This is some BS

Bloom has been proven to be quite random online. It slows down kill whether or not it’s random though which is what I was getting at. Sprint keeps you alive longer because you can get out of a bad situation with ease. I never said Sprint wasn’t effective, I just said it slowed kill times.

@Annoying, were you referring to me or him?

Test it yourself, zero bloom kills slightly faster than H2 and 85% is about the same or slower.

Indeed. TU killtimes = 3 pistol shots, as opposed to Halo 2’s 4, and where the pistol shoots at least 1.5 x faster than the H2 BR.

I’m comparing the DMR to the BR, not the pistol. The TU Reach pistol is a 5 shot kill and has bloom so you can’t spam out shots at range. CE:A pistol doesn’t equal the Reach pistol anyway.

I think the magnum in TU is quite possibly the fastest killing actual “gun” Halo has ever seen. Regardless, I was pretty big into Halo 2 during it’s prime and I can confidently say the DMR in TU shreds so much faster than the BR in Halo 2. Halo 2 BR did kill quick, but not DMR TU quick. Guns kill WAY too fast in TUZB, like its almost silly.

They updated the TU pistol to a 5 shot with bloom, so it’s no longer OP. I also played a lot of H2 and actually tested the kill times. Zero bloom kills slightly faster than the H2 BR and 85% is about the same. I’m not just making this up. It does feel too fast at first but you need to get used to it. It’s a drastic change from default Reach’s kill times which is why it seems faster than it really is. I’m not going to argue anymore because you guys are just assuming I’m wrong but have never done the research to know the kill times.
