As of now, the TU population is quite low, on an average day, it is less than 1500 people in that playlist. I can see the TU playlist becoming the next ‘team classic’ in terms of population, anyone agree?
Sorry. I saw 5,000 people on yesterday #1.
#2. It does not matter because the TU is in Beta so why does it matter when it will be taken down in 2 weeks?
It will become the next Team Classic but not in the way you are thinking.
yeah, time to kill the list…like FF Limited. Oh, and remove Co-op Campaign, too. Not to mention every other list with less than 600 players.
Population is a problem for Reach in general. Too many awesome games out there.
What does population have to do with anything? If it’s a fun playlist, let it stay. It’s not harming anyone if it has “under 600 players”. Population is merely a number, nothing more, nothing less.
80% of games were either AR or 85% bloom DMR starts so I stopped playing.
The pistol has a random spread and doesn’t feel skilful to use IMO.
10K on TU playlist trolololol. Never seen that many on there EVER

Day 1 had the majority of Reach’s population. I remember it having more than Living Dead.
In your post, “As of now” refers to ten hours ago from my post here. Now, if I did my math right, that means that it was 9:30 PM in Chicago and 10:30 PM in New York. That’s not a time of activity for Americans. Try checking the population at about 5:00 Eastern US time, when most of the people from the aforementioned cities will be home from work/school.
It’s finally a playlist where the scrubs of Reach are put into place. The better players dominate. It’s as simple as that.
Perhaps, Josh and Sage will not play this one?

I think this is the problem with the population. The scrubs do get beat. But because the competitive players have all basically left the game completely, its only the casuals which continue to play (myself included).
So because of this the people that get destroyed simply go back to the vanilla playlist where its ‘safe’, thus causing the population to plummet like it has.
I’m forced to search alone in the TU BETA because people on my friend list don’t like it. They are to used to the vanilla mechanics. I would assume that this is what has happened right across the board.
Competitive players have gone, the TU is not going to bring them back - casuals dominate the playlists, casuals want easy gaming - TU is not easy gaming for casuals because they get beat =population going down.
Thats just my opinion, for what its worth.

The problem is for many competitive players there are too many gametypes that are not ZB. If we get a playlist that has ZB with no pistol (which has random spread) AND it is either ranked like H3 or arena I can guarantee that the population will increase.
Another thing frustrating to me is when ZB comes up AND gets voted generally one person will quit, of course I quit when regular slayer gets voted lol.
A 1-50 ranking system would bring the population up dramatically i believe, i would assume that this is one of the things 343i are working on. If not then the population will forever be low.
Maybe we will have to wait for H4 though.

i think if they increased the kill time on the pistol (to like 1.4 seconds), and paired this change with a 10% increase in player speed, and a bit of jump height (and more gravity, too), more people would be inclined to play it.
as it is now, i really dont like ZB. yes it works as intended (shoot better = win) but the kill time for the pistol is simply ENTIRELY too fast.
I’m done with this game. I won’t be buying Halo CEA to support Reach’s garbage multiplayer.
http://www.bungie.net/Stats/Reach/GameStats.aspx?gameid=843392232&player=n1cholas
1 teammates quits out before the match has even started the other that has host starts raging about lag and quits after a minute or two sending the game to a massive 2 minute black screen.
The game resumes everyone is redbar and the host selection screen comes up 3 times in 3 minutes, everyone’s just teleporting around being killed by invisible enemies.
Remaining teammate is -Yoinking!- about lag, nading me and opponent to get cleanup kills.
Get stuck in an infinite respawn coutdown that lasts for 1 minute then decide this turd of a game isn’t worth my time.
For all there faults the previous Halo games were never this frustrating to play and if the match was completely unplayable due to lag you could quit without getting an idiotic ban.
Nothing is going to save this game, it’s gone to the dogs and is a lost cause.
I really hope Halo CEA bombs so 343 wake up and realise Reach is trash and scrap all the additions it brought with it.

That is true but by day 3 it had 5000 by day 6 it had 2500 and so on tell it basicly boiled down to an accurate representation of the amount of players that are so vocal about wanting those changes.Currently(11:00 pm pacific time) there is 556 players, basic slayer has 4466 and living dead has 4991,if this does not give you insight into the popularity or the necessity to make changes to reach I dont know what will.To address such a small portion of the population with so much attention could be a detrimental mistake for 343.(are you guys listening?)
@Plunderfall
You do realise your beloved and terribad Reach will still be available and most of the TU changes will only apply to certain playlists.
I think Bungie were onto the fact that Reach was a mistake, one that wasn’t worth the time or effort to balance.
Reach is a frustrating and unendurable game which is why Halo CEA will be murdered by MW3 which is beyond easy and even the worst of players can get kills.
Yea I was on the other day and less than 500 people were playing on it.

It was going to get murdered regardless lol.Everything will. Is the TU due this month?
