It only takes one troll, to ruin your chances of winning a match in BTB or CTF.
Players can destroy their teammates vehicles without any punishment, and can continue sabotaging their own team til they’re satisfied. Any attempt to stop them gets you booted.
This behavior is growing rapidly because it’s nonpunishable, and there is no reason for these trolls to stop.
PLEASE REPAIR THIS
We can stop this from becoming an epidemic with any of these possible solutions.
>> Teammates should NOT be able to harm their own team vehicles.
>> Allow boot option when players destroy any vehicle while a teammate is driving (regardless if they survive or not, the boot option should still display)
It’s reached the point now that I get in the mantis just to see how long it takes for my teammates to destroy it.
I just try to get it over with, because it’s not going to be used to fight the other team (it almost never is now days)

In previous Halos if your vehicle was team killed, you died with it enabling the boot mechanic. This is OPs gripe and a perfectly legitimate gripe at that. There is nothing to dissuade trolls from breaking the game.

No, just the end of Halo 4 if 343 doesn’t put a stop to it.
This is worse than it was in other halo games, because such actions used to get players booted, but now they can do what ever they want.
This is indeed a wide spread problem, and it’s growing.
IMO, simply going back to the classic teamkill enabled would solve it all the easiest. It’s just a simple setting in the playlists. If destroying a vehicle still killed the teammate(s) inside it, boot option appears.
At first I was happy to see I couldn’t kill teammates, but now I’m indifferent to the matter. You will have trolls no matter what. Which one would you prefer?

That would be more doable if the other team didn’t keep their vehicles intact. (although since this is such an issue, there are matches where both teams destroyed their own vehicles. But this case is not the norm)
Why should your team be at a disadvantage for no reason, other than lazy teammates think they are entitled to said vehicle and envy anyone who made an effort to support the team.

I have had this happen more then once to me in spartan ops. I am raking in the kills and the idiot griefer with the mic screams into the headset about how I am getting the kills and destroys the mantis,then every spawn just over and over destroying the mantis. While his party member does the remainder of the killing. So lame
Even more lame is there is nothing to stop them from doing it. NOTHING at all. I cant believe it, nothing to do but deal with it and move on it seems. Not that I am happy about the situation
I hate how they give you the power to boot on some close quarters games but not others. Of course i might kill you on accident when theres 6 guys chucking genades at each other. And you boot me for it? After i just forgave you 5 times in a row for running me over constantly on an open map. Thanks Jackhole! Lol
Prevent them from destroying your vehicle by either not being able to do so or by booting them from the game. NOBODY wants to play with such people, I don’t care if it happened in every Halo game, I know that I hate it… I was trying to get the Bigfoot achievement today and I had my Mantis damaged or destroyed on several occasions by “teammates”. It took me 14 hours but I unlocked it.

Exact same thing happened to me. If you do well on that mission you get repeatedly troll killed.
So I usually just sit back and wait… It’s the only time I will AFK a mission. Usually I have got a ton of kills anyway so will get a decent score anyway.

While we’re at it why not make it so players can’t do anything ‘fun’ related whatsoever, the only left to do is dmr spam…Ummm sounds familiar to another franchise most hate starting with CALL of nonsense.
Why are people voting for not harming teammates vehicles? That’s as ridiculous as not being able to harm your teammates in Infinity anything. You really want people throwing a bunch of plasmas onto the back of a mongoose and launching your team across the map? Now that I think about it… that would be kind of fun…

It’s a shame that good players get benched, while the trolls enjoy the game. That makes me want to quit Halo 4 altogether.
But if we hang in there, maybe this will be fixed.

In game types where team killing is possible, if I see a team mate camo sniping and I have a sticky… -Yoink- camo snipers!
