tsk pistol....

Now before i begin i have not played the update and i would only like this to get answered.

Because the pistol is a three shot kill again(woo) i want to know if they increased the movement acceleration or will allow us to modify this trait. No i am not talking about movement speed, im talking about acceleration. The change in the direction of movement has slowed from each game to the next with ce being the quickest and most responsive. Now with the tsk and no bloom and with the very slow acceleration/responsiveness of strafe the pistol will be overpowered and will destroy the whole reach sandbox of weapons. This is because it will turn into who ever sees the other person first wins, something that is not halo. With a faster acceleration players of greater skill will be able to adjust and out strafe/shoot the opponent to win. Please 343 or someone with proof let me know if the acceleration/responsiveness to strafe has been increased.

I’m assuming they are upping the base player speed like they have in the classic playlist.

Meh, I’d say thats more like Halo 2/3’s skill gap. CE honeslty had such poor mechanics (compared to modern games), that it became a bit of a cluster**** that it wasn’t funny. Loved the game to death, but it was so forgiving that I can’t say it beats the rest of the series.

Yes, they are probably doing that too, but I was talking about just how it appeared the player could change directions with no acceleration.

I was just recently playing Halo CE on PC, and I must say sniper hit registration is pretty bad. Of course, it is an old game, but I would have to say Halo 2 had the biggest skill gap in my opinion.

On LAN yes, play Halo Custom Edition online and see how little skill is involved.

I highly highly agree with you. I mean 343, I have played tons of CE on the PC. And you can strafe so much quicker compared to Halo Reach. You MUST up the acceleration on the strafes.

There are 2 reasons why a 3 shot magnum was not OP in CE

  • Low bullet magnetism (which the current reach magnum already has it set low)
  • high strafe acceleratoin.

343 I advise to take this into serious consideration. This feature MUST be implemented. If you don’t then maybe people will not like the aniversary mode at start. And yes I know its a beta but you really need to give us a good first impression.

Please bs angel, you said you monitor these forums quit often. TRUST me, this is a must. PLEASE UP THE STRAFE ACCELERATION.

Thats because you must look at how high your ping was. The higher your ping, the more you must lead your shots. Anything lower than 50 ping you are consider a ping -Yoink!- because its too easy. 110 ping is a nice solid ping becaue its hard to lead your shots but at the same time its not rediculesly hard to hit someone.

we have to get 343 to see this… dont think its that hard of a fix

That is the PC version’s terrible netcode. You have to lead your shot based upon lag. Host a game or play on LAN, and it will be much better.
