Once campaign releases on the 8th, I’m really hoping we get more for multiplayer as well. I’m hoping this really is a beta and there’s more to come. I mean, I did read somewhere we were supposed to get 28 maps at launch I think it was. And the leaked campaign unlocks in multiplayer aren’t in the game currently, so who knows. Even some campaign weapons aren’t in the game yet. I’ll even accept retroactively adding in stuff to the season pass. There was also a rumour/leak of the falcon making a return. The bones of this game are great and the non-core elements can be changed and updated I’m trying to see this as an advanced tech test and not a full release. It just happens to be a beta where your progress is carried over to the full game, which people tend to ask for with betas anyway.
Is there hope or am I just grasping for something not there? What are your thoughts?
I think more maps is not necessarily a good thing this close to the start of a games lifespan. Everyone is still becoming familiar with the maps we do have. There are new gametypes to become familiar with too as well as a more diverse weapon Sandbox.
One of the best parts about watching HCS is seeing how the strategies and map movements are developing and it’s been amazing to see pros actually dropping their BR’s for standard weapons. This has never happened in a Halo game before. It’s amazing.
It’s a live service game so it will develop over time too, so it does seem a tad bare bones in some areas as they lay the foundations of the game. This game already feels like the stand out Halo game of all time right now, so I’m excited to see it evolve even further.
Nothing wrong with getting more maps at launch, we can learn those too, and the new gametypes take one match tops to get to know how to play it, and it doesn’t stop them adding more down the line. I dunno if I’d say the weapon sandbox is more diverse, I think other games in the series were more diverse. I am excited to see what comes down the line but I’m also worried how long it’s going to take for some things. I’m just wondering what makes this a beta and not a full release? If it’s just balancing and updates, that’s not a beta but a full release, otherwise any game that gets patched is a beta. As for HCS, I really don’t care about pro gaming, good for those that do but I really~ dislike it, especially when it’s just not standard settings. I sort of see it like saying I’m a Halo pro but we must play SWAT, bit extreme but I hope you see my point. And in my opinion I think they ruined 4 and 5 as they were aimed more towards pro players tastes.
Halo 5 was the most fun competitive Halo until now imo.
H4 is the worst game in the series hands down, again just my opinion.
The weapon sandbox is more diverse in how useful the weapons are. In the other games you can win every game using just the BR/Pistol, Sniper and Rockets. In Halo Infinite the other weapons are much more useful and deadly and can be more situationally devastating.
You got to remember a lot of players will.be experiencing Halo for the first time so even routine game modes may feel very new to them.
Ok I getcha. But besides oddball I think the other classics modes are pretty standard for an FPS. For me 3 and Reach were the best, 5 has a good multiplayer (terrible campaign) but didn’t feel like halo. I can agree for the most part about the weapons when it comes to killing, I get whatcha mean now. There’s a few outliars being bad but for most of the guns they’re fine to use. Maybe diverse isn’t the right word though.
