I’ve been trying over and over again to love this game from the point on release but i just can’t seem to. while the story did suck i still had fun playing the campaign, outside of the same boss fight over and over again. But then we got the multiplayer, oh boy. 343 trying to make halo the new big E-sports game just sorta killed it for me. Every game mode being 4v4 outside of BTB which wasnt even in the game at release! And i think we also have doubles although i dont think its permanent. And on top of the 4v4 game modes we also have the rank system. Now the ranked system is where i have even a bigger problem. I like to just sit down and play for fun, you know casually? but instead im stuck doing rank matches unless i do BTB i believe and social slayer which is a bunch of gamemodes in one i think. And with this ranked system im stuck sitting here in onyx going against try hards who play all day and its boring, it really is. Now dont get me wrong i get that people may want to play competive ranked but cant that be a seperate mode altogether? And also we need more gamemodes for sure, im pretty sure the gamemodes are what kept me playing reach back in the day. I was going to go over warzone but its not warzone that has the problem, its more of the Req system that kills warzone for me.
And then the spartan abillitys. I love the clamber and think it should of been in every halo game, being able to move around the map in such many ways is just perfect. But the spartan charge on the other hand just needs to be removed. This thing gets me killed so many times, when im sprinting and go to melee someone nearly every single the the charge misses as i end up charging next to them. it should go back to like in halo 4 and reach where when you sprint and melee you just stop sprinting to start your small melee lunge. and another note on melee is that it does way way way to much damage. i think right now it does 100% HP and half a shield? the amount of times i have been melee’d while still having some of a shield and dieing is just to much to count, and its even worse with the spartan charge, i swear a single pistol shot into a spartan charge is a instant kill. And if you dont die you will anyway, the spartan charge knocks its victim up into the air messing up their aim while the charger’s reticule is deadcenter.
There is a lot more i can add but i rather not as at this point i doubt anyone even bothered to read this far as people this generation hate reading lol, but if you managed to read this far i would like to know what your thoughts are? as for me i still see myself buying the next halo for the campaign then just returning it as 343 sorta just killed the gameplay aspect of halo to me and im willing to give them one more shot at a story.
