I’m SR 88 (Halo 4) and trying to clean up my last few achievements in the series and maybe hit max rank in a few games before Infinite. I’m not stupid enough to think I can get there in Reach or 3, but since everyone complained 4 took too short to finish, I figured I’d do that. Problem is the servers were dead even before the PC release.
Can I still do Spartan Ops matchmaking? Any tips on getting to 130 (it was 130, right?) in this day and age?

Why can’t you get to Inheritor? I hear there are still plenty of people playing grifball (and some other game modes) on OG Reach. It might be super frustrating but I’m sure you could still get there.

You can also rank in Halo 4 by playing Custom Games and Spartan Ops. However, don’t forget that you will only be given credits from time played and a game completion bonus (Spartan Ops only). The time based credits will be provided for every full minute played until the game reaches 10 minutes.
If you wish to make the process even quicker, then it’s recommended to use the Fast Track Tactical package (unlocked from completing the Pioneer specialization) which increased the XP payouts by 20%.

I’ve actually been doing Spartan Ops with Fast Track, yeah! Figured I’d do commendations. I was close to a couple but now everything’s pretty far out again
I’ve started another new main acc (not Run 4W), I’m thinkin’ by the time I’ve boosted my H4 online cheevos I’ll be around SR40 and may try SR130 like my former rank I’m also first attempting Halo: Reach Inheritor from scratch in January 2021 before Infinite releases.
H4 my only thought is to find the single best Spartan Ops Mission and have “Fast Track” perk on whenever I can equip it, forgot how H4 works if I should find the quickest S/OPS mission to Speedrun or the quickest one with a lot of kills… this is the only way I personally would do it… H4 online servers are extremely low on population and the game has disconnection issue that’s why I choose S/OPS. If I were going for SR130 I would try to do research on the quickest way to rank up in S/OPS (fastest mission to run through/fastest mission to complete with a lot of kills) maybe even longest mission to complete with most kills? I forgot the best way to earn XP in H4. I’m sure someone else will reply with something more useful. Good luck
Update: Nak3d Eli on YouTube has H4/Waypoint codes guides telling you what to do and the code to enter on Waypoint (X360), this only works if you can access Waypoint app on X360 console since XB1 has a different app and halo waypoint (website) redeem has been removed. If you have 360 console most of these codes work… my LASO completion on Legacy H4 for the Emblem and F load of XP did not work so I assume there’s more codes “glitched”… most should work for doing simple things instead of LASO type stuff! Well worth trying in 2020 for extra XP.
I also meant to say I should be SR40 when I completed 100% H4 cheevos and entered as many waypoint codes I can/could. Good luck with your grind.

I entered those codes as they came out as well as the 100k for Reach through CEA terminals. No luck there for me.
The fastest Spartan Ops mission is E1 Ch5 "Core. Takes about 5 minutes. That’s the one I ran a few times to finish up the MCC challenge after I finished my Legendary run. But less time means less XP. better to do one that takes the full 10 minutes
I’d definitely recommend going for commendations though. You get around 9500 for each one you fully complete. E3Ch4 Shootout in Valhalla will get you the banshee and Hunter ones relatively quick (and an easy achievement for the RvB easter egg. Just shoot the box on top of the tree right after you start.
Need to Know will get you the assassination one in around an hour of resetting (there’s also a zealot and general you can grind for there).
Gagarin, Spartan Miller and The Challenge are best for Prometheans, the latter two being best for sniper crawlers but everyone says that’s a grind.
Land Grab and another one on the same map (VIP? something about Parg Vol) are good for Wraith and Ghost kills.

I’ll keep this in mind if I try to get SR130 in the near future thanks. I found out the hard way too Halo Reach 100K cR code no longer works. I don’t remember all H4 S/Ops mission names or chapters that you mentioned I’m sure they are useful but if it helps even more I know CrespoFTW YouTuber has a playlist for some S/Ops commendation grind.
