I live in Tasmania, my friend lives in Australia. It’s practically a hop skip and a jump from my country to his, we both have open NATs and our internet isn’t provided by wallmart dialup.
For some reason though I’m getting at the playlist selection screen “The Halo 4 servers are not available. Please try again later. Matchmaking has switched to using the default playlist”, I can search for games (and play games in Infinity Slayer easily which has over ten thousand players), but I cannot connect to a custom game that my friend is attempting to host even when we both have open NATs and live within practically the same country. I was even able to connect to my American friends with no trouble this afternoon.
What’s going on?
I can connect to all of my other friends except for this one friend. Every attempt to accept invites from him ends with “You were unable to connect to the party.” :\
