Why is everyone so against try hards? Why are people so glad that weapon respawns are random so that people who put the time and effort into memorizing spawn times and location of weapons in previous halos, have no advantage in this game?
Shouldn’t people who put the time and effort into games have the advantage? I guess that’s just one more aspect that closes the skill gap between good and bad players.
no yes no idk what you want from me.
I never considered map memorization a skill. Any 10 year old can do it easily enough.
True skill would be the ability to adapt to different situations, instead of memorizing responses to pre-determined ones. This in addition to your accuracy, strafing, reflexes, etc.
Also, “tryhards” have proven themselves to be quite an obnoxious, unlikable bunch, especially here.

Why is your post so irrelevant? Is that what you do, just go into forums displaying your ignorance by being an -Yoink-? If the words I choose to include into my post don’t suit you then please refrain from commenting.

So by deductive reasoning this is a forum for casual noobs?
People take video games way to seriously. The tryhards are MLG wannabes who fail at life. Go get a job instead of playing Halo all day long.

How do you figure that? Most threads made here are by the self-declared “competitive” gamers who feel that self-given title makes their opinion more valid than the “common” gamer, aka the dirty casual.
Most of the legitimate discussions regarding the game take place elsewhere.
“Tryhard” is just a term used by people who are angry that they got beat by someone better than them. So instead of blaming themselves and wanting to get better, they blame the person who beat them. In otherwords: bad sportsmanship.

When I play with my team we like to say things like, “snipe on my X”, Rockets up in 30, etc. Label me what you want but halo is way more fun when you have a good team coordinating together. Just kinda sucks this kinda of stuff is gone forever. That’s all I’m saying.

Agreed.

I only label people “tryhards” as an insult when they’re being obnoxious or the like. Don’t have anything against people who play like you do.
Although tell me how it’s any different now? Random spawns are nonetheless spawns: calling them out isn’t going to be any less legitimate. And like I said, it takes more skill to adapt to an unforeseen situation than to just memorize what is where and when.
i dont mind the weapon spawns as they are now, but i also dont use power weapons very often either.
i tend to rely on the weapon i spawn with and this game give me a choice on what that is, so thats even cooler by me.
by not having dedicated power weapons spawns it promotes map movement and gives the power weapon users a reason to not just camp. it is zero fun for a bunch of randoms to play a game against a decent team when you know where they are on the map but you cant get anywhere near there because they hold it down to well. so you have one team camping a quarter of the map and the other team afraid to go there and try and kill them and you have these slow grinding games.
having said all that, i think there needs to be a “hardcore” play list where the “hardcore tactical” crowd can go to get that type of play. one more good reason for ranked i guess.
