Truth and Plaza Suck

Ranked maps Truth and Plaza are just plain terrible.

I like the maps, besides the spawning - that’s what really hurts those maps.

I like Truth a lot, having a bit of trouble getting used to Plaza.
Orion is the map I hate the most.

Orion is definitely not one of my favorites…

Plaza is fantastic to be honest… It never pops up for me though. One of the few 4v4 maps in Halo 5 that’s actually big enough.

I agree plaza is actually a decent size I love it. Closest to my favorite the pit but still could use more medium maps. Heck if be half happy if the maps were in all playlists.

For the most part they are okay. I think they need to change the power weapons on certain maps. Plaza sight lines are awkward for a sniper IMO but also the sight lines are fairly long at certain points for starting with pistols. Truth is fine, regret is terrible. Fuel rod is too OP on that map. Too many bends and curves, more of an aesthetic map vs an actual arena style map.

EDIT: I feel most maps in halo 5 started out as scenery and then turned into maps verses the correct way or molding the perfect A and B symmetrical aspects first and then doing the art side.

I found those maps to be some of the best! Orion used to be my fav in the Beta but now they ruined it… :frowning:

I found the Fuel rod to be Under powered, killed by it only a few times and I usually only get 1 or 2 kills with it compared to a rocket where every rocket is pretty much a kill.

Maybe I just play too many competent people xD. Seems like as soon as we lose possession of it, that the enemy team starts to overtake us pretty badly.

It’s not just you. For some reason they decided to put a Fuel Rod on that map, and it is a 1-shot kill if you hit someone directly with it. I’ve seen teams grab a hold of it and have ammo in it till the next spawn.

To fix this they should
a) Remove the Fuel Rod from the match
b) Reduce the ammo
c) Increase the weapon spawn timer
d) Combination of points b and c

What would you suggest as a replacement weapon out of curiosity?

I really wish I knew. I’d say a sword perhaps, but I’m sure that would lead to frustrating times as well. I would be all for reducing the amount of starting ammo in the gun to 5. It really doesn’t need anymore than that.

Plaza is the map I play best on surprisingly.

There is only 1 map in Halo 5 that you cannot argue is terrible and that is truth. Midship is easily one of the best and balanced maps ever used in Halo. When you say Halo 2 competitive scene, I think Midship. Every single MLG FFA was on Midship for a reason. You may not agree, but you would be the minority. Now even though Truth had to modify midship because of sprint sadly, it still retains the same balance that the original midship had. You don’t have terrible spawns like Orion, you don’t have akward places on the map like Plaza, you don’t have any weapons that make the map unbalanced like Regret. It was also the most extensively tested map the Pros played on for 343. The only thing that would make Truth slightly better would be BR starts, because it can be quite tough to comeback on a team who sets up in top Carbine, top Pink and top Mid with precision weapons while you have a pistol, though it is possible.

The worst maps in Halo 5 are Fathom, Orion, Pegasus and Rig. In that order. Feedback to prove why this is true is explained via bad Lines of Sight, bad spawns or spawns that give one team an advantage (Rig) or level design that makes it unfairly difficult to take back map control (Orion and Pegasus). Regret plays great with BR starts but plays terribly with AR/Pistol starts and fuel rod. I remember hating Regret in the beta until it was BR start week.

Plaza is frigging awesome in SWAT.

I’d argue that Plaza is the best map in the game at this point.
