Trust?

A selfish rant:

A recurring point stated in a couple of Halo 4 videos concerns me. I keep hearing 343i say, “you’re just going to have to trust us.” Trust has to be earned. You can’t borrow all the good will that a previous developer EARNED and exploit it for yourselves. It’s 343i’s first game (from the ground up. I’m fully aware of Anniversary) so personally, I take issue that they just expect everyone to buy into what they are doing simply because they say so.

And a very small statement that increases my fears that Halo 4 isn’t going to ‘be’ halo…

“By the way, I want you to know we understand Halo is important to you. It’s important to us, too, and we hope, when you see next week’s big reveal, that you’ll also see the blood, sweat, and tears we’ve poured into Halo 4. Because we’re doing it for you…”

Sounds like 343 is trying to get out in front of the -Yoink- storm headed their way.

Sorry, just been needing to vent my skepticism somewhere. Good luck 343.

Trust 343i. They know what they’re doing. :3

Whatever they say…whatever they do…there will be people who don’t like it. That’s just the way it is.

Because it’s the game that the fans deserve, but not the one they need right now…and so they’ll trash it and say it’s like Call of Duty…but it can take it…because it’s not just a game…it’s a community, a companion through boring weekends…It’s Halo!

Agreed.

Well 343 Industries is a company made from the best in the industry, who have years of experience, hand picked by Microsoft and all of them to continue the Halo franchise. More importantly, however, every single person who works at 343 Industries is a Halo fan and was once in the same community as us.

They’re not a group of people who have never made a game before and have only played one or two Halo games, if any. They are the people who are the most qualified and deserving to create new Halo games.

So yes, they most definitely do deserve my trust.

I would laugh if all the Halo 4 haters actually sat down and played the game and realized that it is one of the best Halos made in a long time

Just wait it out. If it doesn’t convince you, don’t buy the game and wait for word of mouth to tell you when the game’s released.

All the stuff that is available at pre-order isn’t important. Maybe they got a new combo that will refresh the game. Maybe they won’t.

There’s nothing wrong with waiting something out until later.

It’s OK to skeptical and weary of what we do not know. It’s not ok to let that turn into fear, and let that fear turn into hate.

And hate leads to the Dark Side…

Ha ha! Yeah, something like that…

Trust is earned, but how can you trust someone who hasn’t earned it? easy, you either trust them or you don’t. They may not have earned it yet in your eyes, but they are trying too earn the community’s respect. Now I’m not saying they are trying to make everyone happy because there are some people you can’t please. But they are working hard on maintaining the servers for 3 and Reach all while working on a new game, and they are new at this. To me, they have earned most of my trust by dedication themselves to this series. To work that hard with a only a handful of people (200 or so I believe), that is working hard for something you all love.

The only thing that bothers me is the exclusion of the Sangheili from MP.
