The whole “we’re fans too” line is apparently utter BS since no halo player would think allowing players to spawn with a secondary that acts like a mauler is a great idea. A halo player would realize that putting a long range weapon in the hands of all players is asking for trouble. (it’s def demanding that your btb gametype be reduced to head glitching and across the map fights.) Having played on heretic and elite slayer in greylo, any player would know that allowing people to spawn with stickies is also a bad idea. Any halo player knows that knowledge of map layout and weapon spawns is not just essential to map control, but peace of mind. When people are playing on Construct, they know there is no rocket launcher, so aside from the pod, you can battle it out. Any gamer would know that having a mantis respawn a 15 seconds after the last one was destroyed is asking for trouble. Any halo player that played reach knows that people spawning with active cam is a horrible idea. In halo 4, you can be on haven and someone hops out with an incinerator. The cons are starting to out weigh the pros. Halo 4 is starting to really just feel like a random wtfomgbbq hot mess of people active cam crouching, pinging from across the map with dmrs, and just all around cluster -Yoink-. Thanks for returning the br though guys. Dunno why there’s recoil to it. Dunno why the dmr has zero recoil, yet it flinches everyone hard as -Yoink-. Dunno why the dmr’s rate of fire is so fast compared to a med ranged weapon. Dunno why the dmr is allowed to kill another halo experience. Look at other fps games (we know you did a lot of that when making this game.). You may notice that in arena shooters and even COD games, players can’t spawn with an extreme long range weapon and just spam the trigger around people’s heads to get kills.
I got to agree with OP. Hopefully the classic playlist (which better be coming out soon) will make everything better.
uh…I think slayer pro is supposed to be the classic playlist.
Stickies don’t even stick most of the time.
Jesus people. Quit you’re whining!
This is Halo 4. Not Halo 2, 3, or Reach. Go make and play your OWN game if you dont like what Halo 4 has to offer. Nothing needs to be changed or added. Best Halo to date.

Bub, you don’t have to stick people with stickies to stick them.

why cant someone voice their opinion? Im so sick of people telling each other “stop playing” or “shut up and enjoy the game” for just having opinions different than theirs
People are in such denial that this game is completely different from all the halos. I agree with everything you said OP.
“Bub”, get good with what the game offers and quit your complaining. Everyone else has the same game as you do, and they do just fine with it. If you’re getting owned in matchmaking, play something else.

I’m guessing 2 years ago you were like “this is halo reach, best halo to date.”
> People are in such denial that this game is completely different from all the halos. I agree with everything you said OP.
No one is in denial. This is Halo 4. Not reach, or Halo 3 or whatever other game you wish it to be.
It’s supposed to be different!
> uh…I think slayer pro is supposed to be the classic playlist.
Well that was a fail then.
> uh…I think slayer pro is supposed to be the classic playlist.
Dear Lord. Well, it was a good run Halo 4 but it looks like I’ll only be doing SpOps from here out.
> The whole “we’re fans too” line is apparently utter BS since no halo player would think allowing players to spawn with a secondary that acts like a mauler is a great idea.
Except it takes awhile to charge up and eats half the clip, the mauler fires faster and holds more ammo, and doesn’t need to be charged.
> A halo player would realize that putting a long range weapon in the hands of all players is asking for trouble.
Like halo 1 did with the pistol? I could literally snipe across blood gulch with it.
Lulz. This thread.
Even the battle rifle in halo 3 could be used at long range, and most gamemodes did spawn you with one.

Basically this.
Weapons don’t spawn on the map as often because it’s designed to be a class based/arena hybrid. The originals were pure arena games.
Nothing wrong with change. I can still go loadup halo 3 or halo pc any time I want, no need to spend $60 for the exact same game.
> This is Halo 4. Not Halo 2, 3, or Reach. Go make and play your OWN game if you dont like what Halo 4 has to offer. Nothing needs to be changed or added. Best Halo to date.
This sad, tired retort. Listen, most of us do not expect every Halo game to be the same. In fact, I think 343 brought a lot of changes to Halo that has enhanced it overall. It’s just a shame that there are changes that have replaced or canceled out elements that to many make Halo unique.
Go make your own game. Pfft. So if I have critisisms of a certain movie I’m expected to go make my own, better movie? So much for free speech.

It’s not that they have differing opinions… it’s that they imply that their opinions are better through complaining about stuff, and then they proceed to tell everyone how it should be… because they’ve made and balanced so many games…
If they want to state their opinion then they need to do it in a civilized way that doesn’t try to impose that opinion on everyone else because they have it. It’s not what is being said it’s how it is being said.
It’s also the lack of critical thinking and tuning your play to go about that… The OP makes the point that there weren’t rockets on construct and that you could play knowing that… Well Halo 4 forces you to play knowing that anyone around the next corner could have any number of weapons… Halo 4 makes you play smarter and more dynamic… In my opinion you can’t just have the same exact strategy for every game on a single map. I think it is a nice twist to the Halo experience.
All that being said, I can see the frustration behind some stuff, but I think that a lot of that frustration can be solved by playing the match a little differently and trying new strategies.
> “Bub”, get good with what the game offers and quit your complaining. Everyone else has the same game as you do, and they do just fine with it. If you’re getting owned in matchmaking, play something else.
hmm. They always assume that if you notice things that are messed up, you must be getting beat. Boy, what if Micheal Jordan was like “the three point line needs to be pushed back”. Would you respond with “if you’re getting owned on the court, play something else”? Everyone, pros included hated bloom in reach, is it because they were getting owned? Or maybe some of us are mature enough to recognize problems even when you do well. Look at the first kill in this video.
There wasn’t a sense of “oh there’s nothing wrong with active camo”. My attitude was “get that -Yoink- outta here, it’s a waste of time and it breeds bad players who think they can just crouch cam in any situation.”

You gave up your so called “free speech” when you signed up on these forums and to Xbox live. Read the ToS for once. Might be a little helpful.
There are a lot of fans who feel the same. When weapons with properties such as these are so widespread in games, it changes the strategy drastically. You are no longer required to control space on the map for power weapons, so there is little incentive to move and control areas. Long distance encounters become the encounter of choice because of the prevalence of short range power weapons. It hurts the flow of the game and makes it boring due to the lack of movement.
I believe the developers wanted to make the game more beginner friendly than it was previously because they felt having to learn maps and weapon spawns are too difficult for players to learn.

But Jordan DIDN’T say “move the 3pt line”. Why? Because he made do with how it was.
You, and everyone else who seems to be better than 343 at making games, should do the same.
