True skill

Besides the 1-50 ranking, other features that require skill should be implemented. Although BXB, BXR and double shot were glitches they required skill and mastering. 1-50 ranking would do it for me but those combos would really give me true-joy.

Good thing only a better-than-Reach trueskill system is coming.

How do u know?

my true skill rank.

(Kills + (0.5 x assists) + (0.25 x headshots) = Answer

Answer divided by deaths = Answer

Answer + kills divided by 4 = Answer

Answer - 4 x betrayals = Answer

Answer x 200 = Rating

This is based around K/D and kills so it is far better than the reach system which is based around kills

no because if you get 0 kills is ok your rank does not go down that is not true skill

If you get zero kills you get a small rating. How is that incorrect?

However after investigating this further I does mean that those who get lots of assists but no kills and little deaths do get very good ratings. Not necessarily a bad thing. If you can think up a way of modifying the system for the better I would appreciate it, it is still a work in progress

Also forgot to add if you get no deaths your rating cannot be judged and is listed as MLG

It is incorrect because that is just experience points it is not true ranked skill. Whit that system you only go up slow or fast but only up true rank goes up and down

hmmm interesting, I did not know that. In that case my system is a rating system. As for true skill it cannot be determined until the game comes out and an average is determined for the community. Or until a beta is released (not going to happen)

Glitches like that = cheating, not skill.

> How do u know?

343 only announced that a trueskill system, that’s better than Reach, will be implemented. They will talk about about it as time moves closer to release.

That’s all everyone knows at this point. I’m all for a better system than Reach currently uses. I’m getting tired of playing against people way below and above my skill level because Bungie thought it was a good idea. :confused:

They are both.

To deny those glitches took skill is ignorant and false.

Yes a glitch and yes it was considered cheating but it did require skill to do it. it required practice=skill…Why not trow in a couple of hard combos for the hardcore gamers that like real challenges

True Skill:
Variables:
K = # of kills
A = # of assists
B = # of betrayals
D = # of deaths
W = # of wins
L = # of losses

Constants:
x = coefficient 1
y = coefficient 2

BPR = [x(K+A)/(K+A+B+D)] + [y(W)/(W+L)]
x + y = 100

This formula takes kills, assists, betrayals, wins and losses into account. No player will have a 100 BPR (It is impossible unless you have 0 deaths, betrayals, and losses).

Each player should have a different BPR in every playlist.

Because, then people would be getting pissed, and rage quit because people are using hard combos. Real skill is being able to pwn everyone, with out help from combos like BXB and BXR. If you have real skill you don’t need hard combos to make you look skilled.

These are for games like Mortal Kombat not Halo. Halo is about aiming, shooting, strafing, and tactics.

It wouldn’t be too bad if they were in Customs only, and could be turned on/off.

Lol, what? Help from hard combos. That is kind of an oxymoron. You didn’t get help when you double shot an opponent anymore than you get help when you no scope/quick scope an opponent.

Forget you perception of “real skill” and look at things from an objective point of view. I don’t even want combos back in Halo, but I can’t sit by and ignore your statements.

> Forget you perception of “real skill” and look at things from an objective point of view.

If you’re talking to me, that is objective point of view.

Thats why it is so important to have a 1-50 ranking so unskilled people play people at their level and people that can master these combos and play good go all the way to the top and play against same skill players. Combos only make more room for improvement, if you make a mistake tryng to double shoot it jams your BR and you will most likely die it was hard to aim and double shoot. it required skill something that a lot of gamers are afraid of nowdays.

Im ok with no combos caveman I just really wish they bring back 1-50 true skill rank just like Halo 2. but im tired of asking for that so I posted this to see what others opinion was on the subject.

???

You are perceiving button glitches as having no skill, or not “real skill” because they are labeled as cheating. That is not looking at them from an objective point of view.

Any human being who tried to perform a double shot in the game without being told it was cheating, would see that action as a fairly difficult one to perform. Thus it requires a fair degree of skill.

To say otherwise is looking at button glitches from a subjective point of view.
