What ever happened to true skill rank. It seems like every game is moving into this phase where its more about how many hours you play instead of how good you are in the time you play. I was a 48 in halo two and used to strive for that 50, now in halo four I have no clue what my rank is nor do I care. Why did they do away with this?
If you were a 48 in Halo 2, you cheated. A 48 in Halo 3 is a better lie.

First, TrueSkill is currently present in the background and matches you up with players of a similar skill, regardless of progression rank.
Second, a 1-50 visible rank system (CRS - Competitive Rank System) is currently being tested using live, real-world data and will be rolled out around January next year. This gives time for people’s skill levels to settle and most importantly, lets 343 thoroughly test the system to prevent boosting and exploits when it is released.
