True Skill matchmaking my a**

I just got in a game of a regicide with a guy who had 30000 + kills and 5000 deaths (yes this is how we have to judge a player now). First of all how does that happen ? and secondly how does someone get that many kills and so few deaths ? I’ve been playing Halo for years (had a 50 in Halo 3 etc etc) and I’d like to think I can hold my own in a game of Halo.

This guy with the amazing k/d is getting paired with people who are obviously not on his level, so doesn’t that ring any alarm bells for 343 ? hes going to make people hate the game. That game I was just in had a guy who was a total noob (he had like a 1000 kills), I cant help but think hes just got mad at Halo after losing to that guy, taken Halo 4 out and put Black Ops 2 back in.

The matchmaking for Halo 5 needs to be seriously examined, its too late now for improvements with Halo 4.

REALLY GOOD PEOPLE NEED TO BE PAIRED WITH REALLY GOOD PEOPLE

AVERAGE PEOPLE NEED TO BE PAIRED WITH AVERAGE PEOPLE

AND NOOBS NEED TO BE PAIRED WITH NOOBS

Or is this mix-mash the price we pay for not having social & ranked playlists divided ?

which iwhy there bringing CSR they already have one or i belive they do but it snot visible on waypoint or in game and its not working at all.

I don’t think it’s possible for someone with a KD like that to be “evenly” matched in matchmaking lol

Get that man Some MLG playlists quickly before he drives us all out!!

player true skill has never worked reliably in any halo game.

what was his gamertag…

Well that player is a guest booster, just go check the recent games and some of the old once on him/her.

> what was his gamertag…

He’s not allowed to post it here. It doesn’t really matter anyways. I’m pretty sure that the only way to get a K/D that high is to boost, so he’ll be caught soon enough.

Its not hard to do when you constantly play with a team of skilled players in BTB.

Halo 4 doesnt only match teams with teams in BTB. It also matches teams with randoms and the result is stupid high KD’s for the team.

I’ve seen plenty of people with 5+ kdr, there just good players who play with teams and for some reason teams get matched up with people less skilled.

Well since Trueskill, Halo 3’s 1-50, and the upcoming CSR doesn’t factor in KA/D and instead just uses W/L these kind of match ups are going to happen.

We need a Halo 3 Social and Ranked, with the Ranking system being Halo 2’s were 50 is damn near impossible.

If you can’t control your anger, then you shouldn’t be playing online games in general.

that’s how you know when someone always bring a stack team with them

Fixing skill mismatches in matchmaking has been a complaint of mine for years - since Halo 3 at least. I actually feel Halo 4 is much better than Reach or 3. Certainly it is for me, my games in 4 have been much more enjoyable. The matches seem to be much better, only occasionally sticking me with an actual skilled player. My k/d is at .75 which is an all time high for me.

Well as a total noob I must say I find the matching up of players a bit odd. Halo 4 is my first venture into xbox live, so I don’t pretend to be a authority on the subject. I have mainly played big team slayer, more often then not I get into a game made up of sub sr40 players, but there always seems to be a few who are above sr100 with good kd ratios. It seems a bit ridiculous to me, surely these experienced players shouldn’t feel much satisfaction scoring heaps of kills against noobs.

Since when does a high K/D represent a very good player?

He may be a CTF player that likes to boost his score. Wish we had a way to report such people when we do see it happen.

> Since when does a high K/D represent a very good player?

It doesn’t really…unless they ONLY play slayer, then it is…

But it’s literally the ONLY way to even have a guess right now even for Objective playlists

Yeah, but the majority of people in this thread seem to think it is.

I have already said that I am a new player. I don’t think you need to be a halo veteran to express an opinion. The only way I can judge a player is by his sr , which to me represents experience, if not how good he ( or she ) is. If they have a good kd ratio then I can only assume that they aren’t total crap. sheesh.

The matchmaking criteria always needs a bit of work. Trueskill isn’t a precise mechanism, even after eight years of refining.
