Halowars was successful because it was simple, with all the most iconic units and such. Halo wars 2 needs to be similar, obviously with better graphics and such. But simplicity is key. With that being said, i would also enjoy “true sight” meaning units will have two range profiles:
- Visibility range
- Weapon range
For heavier units, weapon ranges will exceed sight range.
For light units, sight range exceeds weapon ranges
Heavy units such as tanks, would have a medium weapon range and a medium sight range.
Light units such as scout units, will have a large sight range and a small weapon range.
Tank destroyers, low sight range and very large weapon range.
This would create a chemistry, and a synergy between units. Creating a dynamic feel to the game. Would also help prevent a spam of one unit.
Example, a warthog can scout for a cobra. Giving it sight for the cobra to use its weapon at max range.
Situation A.
A cobra with a scout could easily take out an enemy tank at range. Being able to see the enemy tank coming at max weapon range and engage it sooner.
Situation B.
A cobra without a scout will allow an enemy tank to get close. Giving the cobra less time to react and less time to engage the tank.
Buildings should be shot blockers as well.
Tank destroyers should only be most effective at long range, so tanks should beat tank destroyers at close. Giving a reward to flanks and such. Just my two cents
There should also be a kill count for each unit. (Displays the amount of kills the unit inflicted.)
There should be a Vet progression bar. (Shows progress of unit to next vet level)
As I stated when I started this post. Simplicity is key. Halowars was fun, a good rock paper sizzors. I suggest to avoid maps with choke holds to avoid stalemates.
I would support a 3v3 deathmatch
I think abilities in deathmatch such as the scorpions canister shot should be unlocked at vet 1 since no tech is required.
A system displaying ping. And connection should be implemented in game.
An anti cheat, anti drop should be implemented before it HAS to be. Meaning don’t put something in when it’s too late. The first halo was terrible with force drops. (I knew people who could make you drop the game resulting in a loss for you)
Tell me what you guys think
