Forge can only do so much. So 343 should release the map editor software to the public or for a fee. I know only a fraction of a percent of people would be able to use it and create a good map. But 343 would get maps made for free. They could add DLC community maps. I’m always for moves like this.
They shouldn’t release it for us mortals.
I’m sure they’ll develop a map editor for Halo 5. Not doing so would be a mistake.
Something like that only works for something as powerful as the PC. It would take up too much space on the disk.
Wait until Halo 5 which will be most likely on the next Xbox. I’m sure they will make a map editor, or if not a much more updated version of forge.

Tell that to Far Cry: Instincts on the original Xbox and Far Cry 2 on the Xbox 360. Both are those are far superior to any iteration of Forge.

Yeah but far cry and halo engines are different, coded different etc.

Thanks for the update there Cap.
way to be negative dude.

There’s more than one way to release map creator software. The Sandbox Editor/map creator for Crysis 1, Crysis Wars/Warhead, and Crysis 2 didn’t come on the discs, and guess how people got the map editors.

Also, look at the latest versions of the cry engine that Far Cry used. Are any of those sandbox editors on the Xbox? Nope, they’re on the PC.

I don’t mind if the software is on a PC. Then they can download it to their Xbox. It reminds me of Internet Explorer and Firefox. If there is a problem that needs to be fixed. IE and Firefox is way different. IE only has Microsoft employees fixing the problem and it has to go through a huge process. 3 months to fix. Firefox has google (I think) and the community attempt to fix it. One week to fix. Open Source software has great advantages.
Sorry about the duplicate post. Ipad acting stupid.
