Tritton good for halo?

I just orderd Tritton Detonator headset for $50 and I was woundering if they are good with halo. Lately I’ve been playing my xbox without any sound.

That’s what we used on the builds at PAX and I really liked them.

I hope so, I just pre ordered the Tritton Warhead 7.1 Halo 4 Edition. After I returned my Astro A50’s, very disappointed with the Astro’s

Wat? I’ve had my wired A40’s for 2-3 years now, and I absolutely love them. I can’t speak for the A50’s, but I’d purchase another set of A40’s in a heartbeat if I had to. In fact, they’re on my head right now as I listen to the Halo CE OST.

Trittons are awesome.

Could you explain this further, I have Sharkoon sp’s and theyre great, but I would like something wireless. Cant decide between the warheads and the A50’s…If they had just made the dang warheads compatible with PC this wouldnt even be an issue…

If you want a wired headset with a microphone built in, you CANNOT beat the Astro A40 mixamp used with the Turtle Beach HPX headphones.

If you don’t need a mic the A40 mixamp with some Sennheiser HD800s will give you a sound experience that is unrivaled by anything except a high end studio theater system.

If wireless is your thing I have found the Razer Chimaera 5.1s to be phenomenal. And it has a voice out on the transmitter base that allows me to use the headset to record voice overs for all the gameplay videos I record.

I believe the A40’s are brilliant, I am not bagging Astro in general, But the A50’s were a huge disappointment. I had heaps of Audio & connection problems, and I wasn’t alone. After a firmware update it pretty much eliminated the Audio problem but not completely. My other issue and main reason for returning them was that sometimes after plugging in the chat cable the controller wouldn’t accept or detect the cable.

Astro actually emailed me admitting theres an issue and offered a free repair to fix the problem, I did not accept and simply returned them for a full refund. Astro were exceptional to deal with and cant fault the service.

Well take it from me, I have owned the A50’s and they aren’t wireless, you need that stupid chat cable and get very frustrating when either the controller or headset don’t detect the cable. Sometimes I had to use a second controller just so the chat cable would work. The other frustrating thing was if you were playing and mates joined and u hadn’t plugged the chat cable in you had to remove your headset plug it in and hope it all works.

However the Tritton Warheads are completely wireless and fully compatible with the 360 & can even use your guide button for battery level and comes with 2 rechargeable batteries. after having the A50’s the Warheads are miles in front, and a lot less hassle to use on a regular basis.

This i can back up and the Halo 4 editions looked smexy! The ear attachments are kinda small so hopefully your ears aren’t to big O.o

Also u cant play & have the A50’s charge at the same time unless you buy an additional cable.

I tried on a friends a50 and they were pretty damn nice but I had a chance to try out the warheads last time I was in Kansas city and they just straight up impressed me.

I currently have the halo 4 tritton warheads ordered but i’m always looking around for a better xbox headset.

As long s people know that the warheads are xbox only I don’t see any reasons why it would get a bad review. Saw it happen on a few YouTube videos, why the f would you drop 300 on a headset and not read up on it and make sure it is exactly what you want.

Ah, I see. That does sound quite frustrating. Guess it’s just a little surprising to hear given their reputation with the A40’s. :stuck_out_tongue:

I have typed so many words, but all lost it when this piece of >yoink <system decides not to send it.So I retype, but not with lot of details:

Instead of 7 min points,

Sound
Durability
Comfortably
Setup
things you need to know
Unique features,
[Something important I forgot]

It will be 3 points.PM me if you want to hear more.

Sound:50mm with excellent bass.Excellent for gaming the Gamestop peole told me.They were right=It is excel lat.I am mainly in to battlefield until Halo 4 releases, and I haven’t really played Reach lately, however from what i remembered,it is awesome. You will never want to listen ti speakers for Reach again.Due to the headset, sound that may be lost during speaker mode are fully apperant, look the extra sound to a weapon firing ans so o.Also the fact that you can hear footsteps, and directionally sound if you can listen closely enough

Confortabulity:Unlike other headets, ther is a rectagular box for the headset that you put your ears in.Other headsets just had cushions you put your ears ON.This has cushions that SURRROUND your ead,and a thin peice of whater the hell it is(cotton???)that acts as a barrier between your ear and the headsets sound emiiter. So comfortbale…
Anyhow, the headset itself can stretch greatly(don’t expect to wear it if you have a afro),but unfortunately it is heavy. Not really HEAVY ,but HEAVY enough to become a little noticeable ON your head .

**Things you need to know:**When you get your headset, there is one of hose clipper thing attached to it,that you attach to your shirt(Shirt or clothing NOT BELT clipper),and such.Immediately remove this and place it in a safe remorable place.Due to the clipers nature, you you leave it on the cable it wiill actually skin the part of the cable it is attached too,and completely destroy part of the cable will look like bite arks too).
When i had discovered this,it was too late:My headset was unable to emit sound in the left speaker, and the only way to do this is to position the cable in a apparently remdom spot. Please do no make the same mistake I did :frowning:

Oh and also, follow the setup instruction carefully everytim your turn o nXBox.If you don’,well this cme from experience, your mic may not work(i mean it can work locally on the eadeset(i tested this using SVM (this lets you hear you own voice, but is useless due to it being the vie that your headset perspective, not the voice you xbox send over Internet and what other people hear.) or whaneter v the heck it is called),but over XBL,people may not hear you.

Tat is all.OH,and soory for the actrocios grmammer, iam kinda in a rush :stuck_out_tongue:
