Tried playing the previous Halo's on MCC yesterday

Do not make nonconstructive posts.

And couldn’t stand it. I went back to Halo 5 within minutes. The other Halo’s are simply boring to me now and lack the dynamics of Halo 5. Halo 5 IS what Halo should be. Everybody complaining that Halo sucks now because it has changed (for the better) or wanting to go back to 2001 and play the boring one dimensional shooters that came out in that era… build a time machine and have a good time.
Oh and Lol spartan charge this, groundpound that. Neither of which are overpowered and are usually used as more of a showoff type of kill rather than an effective killing strategy, especially groundpound. You barely see them at all in real competitive play. People that complain about spartan abilities just want a scapegoat for why they suck at the game and can’t shoot. Learn to adapt you whiners.

Welcome to the evolution of shooters.

That’s a nice story. I also really like the new mechanics… well besides Shoulder Charge that is. But the older games will always beat Halo 5, in terms of story and features that is.

“One dimensional shooters that came out in that era.”
“One dimensional”

You’re making a grave mistake if you think gimmicks like Spartan Charge have any significant impact on the meta of more modern Halo games.

I grew up playing the old Halos but it’s 2016 guys.

2016.

I enjoyed my stroll down memory lane. I like the old ones, and am a fan of H5.

Your post is so ignorant, it’s actually funny.

Halo 5 is the 1 dimensional game with no depth at all.
It’s boring, mindless, and a copy of other games.

If you thought the old games were boring, you were A) playing them wrong, and B) probably not with a party.

It is 2016. I can confirm.

I still say H2A > H5… if they actually cared about H2A and gave it proper development and resources.

That’s an entirely meaningless statement.

I’ve seen successful games with very old genres released in 2015, and I’ve played games from the early 2000’s that easily beat half the crap released today.

Anyone who does nothing but blindly follow popular trends is…well, I don’t have any polite adjective for that.

At this point in time while every other shooter out there is getting more outlandish with skills and mech suits and such, how is anything related to a super soldier that is created 500 years from now in the cannon considered gimmicky? do you really think that a soldier who has so many advancements in movement, power, lethality, and technology should be limited to only run and gun? all they are, are different options which allow you to continue to reach out and touch someone in new ways. adapt and overcome man this is halo now, even if you dont like it.

and if you really dont like it, you could start your own studio and barter Microsoft to take over the rights. take things back to the original dynamics and balancing…but honestly halo will die out like that. people need more to work with, they want more abilities, weapons, vehicles. its entertainment thats what the people want.

Popular trends? It’s just natural progression. You can’t expect them to keep selling the same regurgitated content and keep sales as high as they are.

Call of Duty would like a word.

Now I’m going to sit back and watch everyone lose their mind because I mentioned CoD in a positive context.

Well I’m not even going to get into a CoD debate. This topic already doesn’t really belong on this forum.

Jeez, why are you lot so aggressive? I mean, yeah, I completely disagree with him (well, expect for CE; I always found its multiplayer to be mediocre), but do you people not comprehend that there are opinions other than your own?

I disagree with him as well. He probably only started playing Halo 1-3 in the MCC. If that’s the case… I don’t blame him with how 343i RUINED it.

That is your opinion man… I for one love going back and playing the old Halo games. A lot of the time I’ll jump into Halo CE. I’m not a fan of this generation of kids who only play something because it is new and shinny. I play games because they are fun regardless of how old they are. Hence the fact I just bought the Half Life Bundle, Bad Company 2, Counter Strike and CS:Condition Zero off Steam.

its all opinion.

I think the gunplay is good on all the old halos to some degree (though bloom sucks). I find moving around the maps a chore on anything large unless vehicles are involved, except for in halo 4.

Aww yeaa. Half-life is amazing. You should try out Black Mesa as well (Half-life fan remake).

Bloom did suck in Halo Reach. That’s one thing 343i did right (getting rid of it).
