I do not like this game. The time it will take me to become competent at it just to enjoy it will take a very long time. I don’t have that kind of time anymore. I’m going to play something much easier. I hope the people who really enjoy Halo enjoy this one.
I understand and even mirror your sentiment greatly. It is far too sweaty and isn’t for me. Definitely won’t be playing much of it as a 20 year Halo player. But why not send 343i some constructive criticism on the game so, even if you don’t play it, maybe others with your problem have their voices heard? I’m not saying you don’t have a right to post. I’m glad you did. But I feel like all of us sending feedback might make a positive impact on the way the game plays. Maybe not, but who knows.
Whatever you decide to play, good luck!
Well I just don’t want to ruin it for people who may like it. I’ve been playing since CE. Some people may like it. I don’t want them to change anything just on a count of me. I’m just bummed out that I’m at this point in my life I guess where this series isn’t for me anymore. Maybe something I just have to come to terms with. It’s just really hard to do anything for me in this game from capturing an objective, holding one, to getting a kill. A lot of nuance to the combat. It’s why I don’t even play fighting games anymore. The amount of time needed to just enjoy it is time I really don’t have.
Then don’t think about quitting. When I am getting taken apart from every point of the map, moments after I spawn because I cannot get my bearings, I just have to stick it out because the game has a gun to my head and will penalize me if I don’t finish enduring the suffering.
And what if I spend all of that time grinding just to find out that I’m just naturally bad at the game? Then all of that time is wasted.
I know this seems a bit extreme or whiny so apologies, but these are things I’m left with
Don’t give up on the game just yet. Idk what their plans are, but there is always a chance that they might implement SBMM. If they do, then you might still be able to the enjoy the game because then you’ll be put in matches against people with a similar skill level as you.
Edit: Btw, cool username!
I agree that the game felt way too sweaty in arena slayer. But thats what all games have become since streaming has gotten so big. It’s to the point where if I join a lobby and i find someone with “TTV” in their gamertag I often just quit straight away. I’m not about spending my R&R time playing video games like I’m competing in a MLG pro circut when I get home from work. Not all was bad though, I found that even with the odd try hard in BTB it was a way better balanced game for everyone. I think I’m going to be spending majority of my play time on BTB, Arena Slayer just isn’t for me anymore. The hardest part about halo being too competitive is that decent or above average players refuse to play ranked playlist and will only just play social playlists because they can dominate against much lower skilled players than themselves. SBMM could work well in Halo seeing as though it is an offence to self kill in multiplayer that accumulates ban time, so that would remove players from deliberately lowering their K/D ratio.
Just remember the game currently has a melee glitch that basically everyone is taking advantage of currently which will be gone by release. If that’s one of your problems. But other than that I can understand why you might not like Infinite. But I don’t know why you don’t find it easy. It’s pretty much almost Halo 3 and well If you don’t already know this, Infinite multiplayer is basically like H3 with sprint but it makes you not want to sprint much at all. Like never sprint with the flag because sprinting with it always instantly reveals where you are. I think sprinting also affects your visibility on radars but, that probably was just a bug from an older flight. Halo Infinite kind of returns to a more slower play style compared to H5 and H4. Anyways, I’m not trying to keep you playing Infinite just giving out some helpful advice.
I haven’t really found the game to be all that sweaty. Sure I lose about as many games as I win but it has never seemed unfair to me really. Perhaps some teams coordinating more with each other could be the issue but that’s very hard to do in BTB so I would just stick with that. Or even just bot matches. They feel just as satisfying to me.
I know where you’re coming from, I got that feeling from Halo MCC multiplayer. But for some reaosn im much better at Infinites multiplayer than legacy halo.
Understandable, I still felt it as a mix between the first HALOS but with the frenetic and exciting of the battles, having many more buttons to develop in battle is difficult for me, although I would like to continue trying this December 8th, I was impressed by the agility that the vast majority of players hopefully have it one day.
I feel it’s important to remember that this is a flight and only has 2 modes you can play, and neither are “ranked.” Sure, every game with ranked still has sweat lords who play casual modes, but it helps mitigate the amount of them.
I just found the whole thing to be unsatisfying.
I knew they weren’t going to be walking back the gameplay from Halo 5, so i went in with the right level of expectation. Some folks will love it, but I’ll be sticking with MCC.
I understand what your saying but it’s like anything in life the more you practice usually the more proficient you’ll become . I hate to be this guy but a quick peek at your profile showed me you only got to gold 1 in h5. the feeling of being punished off spawn and can’t get your bearings is hard to deal with trust me I’ve been there. To much to text but the best thing for you to do is play the training mode and work up from there. If You actually want to get better watch streams of some pros and emulate there positioning see what routes they take, it’s literally right there for you to copy lol watch a few minutes in the car before work, lunch break whatever
Even though the mechanics in this game can be fast with the grapple etc you can punish them so easy with good positioning and team shooting. In ranked you probably will only play a few high their ppl until they get placed higher and won’t have to worry about sweaty kids abusing the games mechanics.
You got two months to watch film of past broadcast if you need help msg me
I think if 343 implements ranking system that’s very competitive alot of that learning curve will go down and arena lobbies will get easier
