On my Halo Waypoint profile I tried adding a link to my YouTube channel (Thomas Read - YouTube) but when I clicked it, I was sent to “Channel” (https://www.youtube.com/user/channel/UCG_dNPRvc2KLZyC7ERpEH9Q). I tried using the link for my other channel and different pages of both my channels but I still ended up at “Channel” (Which says it’s owned by Whackedout Media Pvt. Ltd.) Can someone please tell me what’s going on and why?
it seems like some issues with the site or something i tried doing it on my profile but the same issue happend to me too
Well at least I know now I’m not the only one.
It’s not set up for linking to channels form what I remember, only user pages. If you paste your username in there it should work

I just tried to link my channel also and it went to that instead.
It wont work because though can’t link to a channel. If you paste in your username it will work. You only need the username, not the full url. Check my profile for an example

What your YouTube username? Mine is “stckrboy” so that’s all I need to put into the box on my profile, so just type in your YouTube user and save it should work ok. As above though, you can’t link to a channel

that only works if you hav an older youtube account or a custom url

If you paste just the end part into the YouTube box on your profile it will link up for you: UCKo7ySJMszx42pIfsyQCxUA
It just says “this channel does not exist” still. Maybe I didn’t do it correctly.

It just doesn’t work. Because the waypoint link will always do the www.youtube.com/user thing.
I’ve tried everything from cut and pasting the full URL, the short URL, my channel name, my Google login name, my Google login e-mail.
Absolutely nothing works. I’m not IT, just an aging console gamer. All I could do was leave a link to cut and paste from my profile Bio.
Yet the brains here also don’t seem to know what the solution is! Could someone who knows the waypoint Administrators please contact them and reply with a informative solution to this.

When YouTube and Google+ merged, I opted to keep my two accounts separate, so I have both accounts now. I was able to do some testing and found that this only works for channels with a username, like Vektor0 or stckrboy. If your YouTube account is a Google+ account with a full name rather than a username, it won’t work.
A URL that works will look like this:
(Name: Vektor0)
A URL that doesn’t work will look like this:
(Name: Thomas Read)
