Trick jumping

In halo 3 I loved being able 2 do trick jumps to out play other players. Jumps such as s1 - s3 on guardian or even s1 -s2 often provided great results! Just about every map had some form of trick jump or manoeuvre available. I did notice that reach wasn’t really made for those kind of skills or tactics.
So my question is, did u enjoy doing jumps on previous halo games and would you like 2 see that back?

> I did notice that reach wasn’t really made for those kind of skills or tactics.

You’re right. Some jumps that were found in Reach’s beta were removed from the final game. I suspect it had something to do with jetpack…

I’d really like to see both trick and grenade jumping emphasised in Halo 4. It just gives the maps that much more depth, therefore more re-playability value too.

Well with the addition of sprint slowing down the base player speed, things aren’t look up for us trick jumpers
Custom games should be good though.

Yea the sprint isn’t good news but I did notice that the jump itself was more in line with h3, actually looked like u could jump over something

Oh yeah I forgot about that!
That alone means allot coming from Reach’s 1 meter jump crap.

I bump 2 jump

Ghost Jumping in Halo 4?!? Yes Please My tactics I used in Halo 3 that worked were demolished in reach and I felt boring.

Can someone explain trick jumping a little more. I don’t quite know what your talking about, but I do agree with Reach jumping being reduced.

Enough to still ninja though.

It was a flaw in the map design that allowed this to happen so It is unlikely to return especially intentionally.

yes and please don’t put soft kill zones everywhere.

In alot of the Trilogy there were tactics like throwing a grenade and jumping higher from the explosion to get to places few other people could, there was also trick jumps like ghost jumps allowing one to navigate like a double jump if there was an invisible ledge. basically you were a ninja if you could do it

Other jumpers please elaborate

I doubt they’d ever emphasize such tactics in matchmaking, seeing that grenade/trick jumping usually goes hand-in-hand with breaking map boundaries and using unfair tactics.

It’s fun to do, yes, but it’s not very logical to purposely cater matchmaking for it.

Nah that’s good, thanks. I remember grenade jumping, it’s a fail in Reach though lol.

I remember those little spots on midship near the top of the ceiling. Yeah, I miss them.

Haven’t played halo 3 in yrs…
People would go to the same ghost ledge to kill people xD.

It would be amazing for it to return in h4 but I have 2 agree it does seen unlikely to be put intentionally in :frowning:

It was fun tricking up the 1v1 BR battles with jumping. I could see it returning.

I never got all the jumps down, even after practicing them from hours on end (specifically Guardian ones).

Sure, I’d like them back, but it isn’t impossible to trick jump in Reach.

I ‘less than three’ Hider League Faming spots.

I <3 HLG

I love the guardian jumps so enjoyable when I simply out play someone
Reach made jumping irrelevant with the jet pack =/

I find it hard to jump in the first place…

I agree, just regular jumps (or what you call trick jumps) add to a different “dimension” towards gameplay.

If you look back at H2 lockout, how many jumps just popped into your head? A bunch right? Same thing (to a slightly lesser extent) can be said about H3 guardian but if you go to Reach theres only a couple throughout the entire game. It makes the gameplay so “one dimensional”, no one does anything unexpected or “plays the map differently” because you can’t.
