Trashing One Change

Some of the new changes dont sit to kindly with the halo community, however, i’d like to see which one people are aggervated with above all.

Ordnance. I get speed boost/ needler/ pulse nades but half the enemy team is rocking one to two shot weapons.

Missing 1 sided objective games.

idk, ordnance and custom loadouts are both really bad.

This is when I know there is a real problem… I cant even vote… I CAN’T pick one that annoys me the most because there is to many equals. Everything on that list related to MM I wish was never put into Halo. Also add in there not being Knocked out of scope.

I would have voted for every single one, they all really cripple Halo 4 and they better not be in Halo 5.

Biggest ones for me is ordnance and custom loadouts. But id have to go with loadouts, im old school  I believe everyone should be on an even playing field and everyone has to work from the same starting point. And where you get too in the match is up to you and your team.

Instant respawn. I’m very much a believer in if you take damage you should keep it (I highly dislike the Halo shield system that every game has copied since it’s release). I also believe if you die you get to sit there for a while.

Then again if it’s a slayer type game mode I think you should have one life and that’s it. But I dislike Team death matches, I prefer objectives.

So yeah instant respawn. Good thing I like CTF :3

All except for Spartan Ops.

Disappearing weapons, long shield recharge wait, Spartan Ops respawn mechanics.

Those are my main issues with this game (I understand AI deloading and by now it’s too late for Campaign Theater :/).

I hope in the next game they allow weapons and bodies to stay on the map longer. I died in a ghost with a beam rifle. I get back to the spot and everything but the ghost wreckage has despawned. Graphics are fantastic, but I bet this is what they had to trade for it.

From the selections up above I was torn. I absolutely HATE Kill Cams. I hate them in CoD, and they are even worse in Halo. I have a friend that would disagree with me 100% on that though. I did vote for instant Respawns. There needs to be some penalty for dieing.

Ordnance is an issue I have too. Like on Ragnarok for example I get grenade, needler, and speed boost, so I pick one and 2 seconds later I get sniped from across the map cause that person got a sniper out of their ordnance. I then loose the ordnance I just got because the despawn time is so short on dropped weapons especially ordnance dropped weapons.

Here is my idea for Infinity Slayer. Ordnance drops would have AA’s instead of Power Weapons, grenades or powerups. You would have to earn that active camo, or Jetpack. No AA’s would be allowed in your loadout except in Custom games. Place weapons on the map with set timers for their respawns, and then Infinity slayer would take on a whole new life. It would be less random and map control would play a much larger role again.

There are a ton of problems and they’re all contributing to the overall bigger picture of a mess of a game. But if I had to pick one I think it would be customizable loadouts. The Halo sandbox has been fine tuned and refined over the course of about a decade. I think virtually all of the balance issues in the game are caused by the fact that people can spawn with weapons they shouldn’t be spawning with.

The boltshot problem wouldn’t be one if people couldn’t spawn with it. Sick of plasma pistols in Big Team? That’s probably because the plasma pistol (which functions virtually identically to previous games) was designed to be a pick up weapon on bigger maps to help stop vehicles when there aren’t any power weapons around. Sick of people crouching around with camo 24/7, camping? It was designed to be a temp powerup that spawns on the map with a fairly long respawn timer. And all of the problems that come from the armor mods are a result of this, too.

I don’t mind anything too much, to be honest.

It wasn’t listed up there but I’ll have to go with ‘Weapon Balance’.

If the DMR and Boltshot weren’t so bad, loadouts wouldn’t be bad.

If fewer weapons were OHKs, Personal Ordnance wouldn’t be so bad.

Weapons would be better balanced if there was less autoaim/whatnot for most of them but all-in-all, the biggest killer for this game, for me --outside of the crappy connection/networking/whatever-- is the weapon balance.

I’m not really against customizable loadouts as a concept. So some people spawn with a BR and others choose an AR, it’s not really gamebreaking.

It’s the perks and abilities though that ruin it.

So Loadouts in general are okay to me.

Map design is bad. Most of them are forgettable, many are imbalanced in one aspect or another.

Ordnance is horrible. It doesn’t take strategy, movement, or balance into consideration.

Weapon, Ability, and Vehicle Balance is pretty bad as well. Many weapons and abilities feel redundant, others feel clearly superior. Vehicles need some work.

Those three are my biggest issues. I don’t think I could pick a single one that annoys me the most.

I voted Ordnance, though I wish I could have specified Personal Ordnance. I don’t have a problem with Ordnance-based weapon spawns, but when someone can just call a Sniper Rifle to their feet on Ragnarok it’s a problem.

I can’t choose between customizable loadouts and ordinance drops. They both severely break the game for me, in my opinion. Give me back my BR starts for everyone and the need for map control. I can’t stand these gimmicky AA’s that we don’t need to play the game either. I can’t believe I’m saying this but Halo 5 will be the first Halo game that I won’t pre order and buy all the goodies that come with it. I’m 34 and have enjoyed Halo CE-Halo 3, but now it is a totally new recipe. I will take a redone Halo 3 any day over what we have been given by these last 2 iterations.

I probably won’t try Halo 4 again until Team Throw down makes its appearance. If it is not worthy, I’ll finally leave.

For anyone that says, “go back to Halo 3”. Well, I did and still do from time to time but I get so much irritating lag half of the time that it makes me frustrated.

Thanks to all of you Halo fans that want a true classic Halo game back and that voice your opinions in a respectful manner. You’ll be the ones that may make Microsoft see the error of their choices.

low level cap. i played hard for inheritor. i would have like a challenge getting to max rank in 4.

Ordinance drops but only because of how they work if they was to change the mechanics or them only so you are rewarded for doing well then i would welcome them.

> Ordnance. I get speed boost/ needler/ pulse nades but half the enemy team is rocking one to two shot weapons.

this can not be quoted enough.
