First of all, I would like to applaud 343 Industries for a job well done at E3 thus far. The Master Chief Collection comes bundled with all main Halo titles for a surprising price of $59.99. Excluding all being updated for Xbox One, the multiplayer component of Combat Evolved Anniversary running on the original Combat Evolved engine, the Collection only comes with one title that cannot be played or purchased on the Xbox 360, which is Halo 2: Anniversary.
I have a few questions regarding the transition from Xbox 360 to Xbox One, as most of us already have invested lots of playtime into Halo: CEA, Halo 3, and Halo 4. I am wondering if anything done on the Xbox 360 will be transferable to the Xbox One. This includes:
-achievements -stats and Service Record -game progress -Halo 4: weapon skins, exclusive armor, emblems, and the like
If Service Records are not transferable, we would be starting our multiplayer experience from scratch, which is not necessarily a bad thing. However, there are many exclusive armor and weapon skins, and emblems in Halo 4 that if not made transferable, will be impossible to use and unlock unless 343 decides to set different requirements in the game for these items. This includes items from pre-orders, Champions Bundle, and MacFarlane toys.
Although I would be fine starting over totally from scratch, I would like for players who have played the same games on the Xbox 360 to be rewarded. $59.99 is a fantastic price but these players have still bought the same games on a different console so I think they should be at least gifted something small like a nameplate, badge, gamerpic, avatar item, or even something for Halo 5: Guardians.
> I hope to god that you don’t have to unlock the same achievements twice. That just seems fragmented and inconsistent!
I just shivered at the thought of getting all of those map-specific multiplier achievements for Halo 3 all over again. No thank you! New achievements please.
I played Spartan Assault on my 360. I recently downloaded it on the Xbox One since it was free. Upon launching the game, it did a quick scan of my account (all your stats and achievements are attached to your gamertag, not your console) and it unlocked all of my stats, all of the missions, and the achievements automatically before I got a chance to play anything.
I’m sure it’ll work like this but there must then be a way for new players to get them as well.

Yeah I dont believe we have anything worry about with achievements.
But I’d like to hear something about the skins and preorder stuff.

Hopefully it works like this and brings you all the previous content you’ve paid for as well as stats! Would like to continue Commendations rather than start at 0%.
I don’t think we have to worry. You have an Xbox LIVE Account, right? When you go to Xbox.com and log in, it doesn’t say “Go to Xbox 360 account/Go Xbox One account”.
Your Xbox LIVE account is there to stay, and applies to both consoles.

We’re not talking about Xbox LIVE accounts, we’re wondering about data associated with you on the console.
Stats are attached to gamertag, but game progress is not. Downloaded skins and other content, I am very curious to see if or how they will return.
> I think that content like DLC maps, weapon and armor skins, and your rank aren’t transferred to the XB1.
DLC maps will all be in the Master Chief Collection for all players so no concerns about that. Weapon and armor skins, I’m unsure. Rank could easily be transferred to Xbox One through Waypoint Service Record.

I was referring to achievement crossover. And yeah, I have some X360 game on XONE and data has transferred between the two (X360<–>XONE).

Dan Ayub did say that everything would be unlocked, so you may not have to re-earn things.

Hm, maybe your gamerscore from the 360 games will be the gamerscore for the MCC. Otherwise, achievements will be unlocked as they’re considered part of a separate game.

That’s great news! “Everything” includes EXCLUSIVE weapon and armor skins and emblems, right? If so, do you know if they will be unlocked for all players?
Would like clarification from 343. Also would you mind providing me with a link to the source, Toa?
> Then 343 needs to find a way to bring our content we bought and earned. Our DLC, our weapon skins, our ranks! They’re too important to lose!
DLC Maps will be available for everybody. But weapon skins and ranks… not sure how what you did on a 360 will affect your new experience on Xbox One if at all.

Well, during the Xbox media briefing, Dan said everything would be unlocked from the start, but he was never specific about what that meant. We know it includes campaign missions, Spartan ops mission, and all the maps, but that’s all for now.
I’m ok having to start over. Though it will be sad knowing on the xbox one version of Halo 3 I am no longer a 5 Star General and a lousy recruit again … all that exp gone … and dang, I really loved the rank symbols Halo 3 used. So awesome looking.
I got my X1 with Titan Fall bundle and switched my Ghost copy to X1. It took all my stats but not achievements.
I believe it’s up to the developer on how to make the transfer. I don’t think they would say achievements are awesome so were
giving it 4000 GS and have them all unlocked.
I would be fine with it giving you the choice wether to take your old ones or do them again.
I personally had most except a few on 3 and none on 2.
I would like to do them again. I know some on 3 were difficult but would be easier to get again with a bigger population since it’s carry over to Reach.
Would be interesting to see if they have the Vidmasters or 7 0n 7.
