Transferring screenshots from 360 to PC?

So I’m late to the Reach hype, and the Halo franchise in general. I only just bought most of the games, and fell in love with the fact you could customize Six’s armor and take screenshots (I like making computer backgrounds and graphics out of game shots) in Reach. Needless to say, I was very disappointed to find out you need to bend over backwards and then some to even get the chance of transferring the screenshots from the console to PC

Obviously Waypoint is out of the picture as it never loads any of my files or file shares when I go to the appropriate page. I’ve tried simply copying the files from console to a USB (both formatted to the 360 and not, and both give me a folder named “Content” with two piles of folders within folders, one leading to a cache .pkg file, and the other to what I can only assume is my screenshots and clips, but they’re simple “files”, named with random numbers and letters, and can’t be opened). I’ve tried working with GruntModder and WeMod’s Horizon, and I just can’t get them to work. All I managed to do was extract a “screen.shot” file using Horizon, but then I couldn’t do anything/figure out what to do beyond there. Any attempts to find tutorials all lead to dead ends, or forums and youtube videos from 2010-2012 when Bungie’s site was up and functioning and when GruntModder was new and regularly updated and supported.

The only other option I’ve yet to try out involves capture cards I can’t exactly afford right now and, even if I could, seems a bit of a waste if all I want are my screenshots and occasional clips. But as it stands, that seems to be my only option. So. To the point of this thread. I’m looking for advice on things I may have overlooked in trying to transfer my screenshots, or recommendations for capture cards that will do the job and (hopefully) be relatively inexpensive?
