Transferring Halo Reach files to MCC isn’t a thing

It’s extremely disappointing to know that they aren’t transferring our ranks/armor we got on the 360 version of Halo Reach to the MMC. I don’t see the point of adding Reach to MCC if it’s just going to wipe our ranks, you might as well just download Reach and not play it on the MCC… Really though what was the point of adding it…? I really hope the devs decide to let us transfer our 360 files to MCC but it’s not looking like it’s going to happen considering they are making people who bought MCC go through a stupid Fortnite battle tier to get any armor customizations. It doesn’t make ANY sense to do this.
Anyone know if they’re going to change this decision??

The Xbox One version of Halo: Reach is technically a new game so it makes sense for stats to not be transferred over. As for the files, that opportunity has come and gone. Some time ago 343i gave players the opportunity to transfer maps.

They didn’t wipe anything. Your old Halo Reach stats are still there… in the old Halo Reach.

It’s to be able to play the game at a higher resolution and framerate than was previously possible, to play without motion blur, and to be able to seamlessly switch between different Halo games in one collection.

If ranks were the only reason you see to play Halo Reach, then stick to the original release.

Clearly ranks weren’t the only reason I played Reach, but it IS a slap in the face knowing it’s not going to be transferred over to the better looking/functioning game. And yes I’m aware it didn’t wipe my ranks/gear but it is my far not a new game.

It’s not a new game… and they gave the opportunity to transfer maps, not player files.

Maps are files hence why they can be added to the file share system. If you mean film clips and screenshots then you can always use the Xbox One’s built-in DVR system and gametypes can easily be recreated.

Well, considering when I changed my gamertag it didn’t transfer my Reach stats to the new name, I don’t mind that we’re starting from scratch. Also, since they’ve changed how levels work a bit for this release it wouldn’t have really worked to transfer progress over. And finally, it’s not hard to unlock everything again. I’m level 81/100 for all the season 1 unlocks and I don’t play all that much. I’ll have everything unlocked by the time this current double xp for the holidays is over.

Completely agree with op.

Same thing happened to me back last november when i changed names.
Wound up spending over 6 hours with various techs on xbox live support and worked it out.
Turned out it was all for nothing anyway, pretty much :persevere:

I think the opposite, if everything did transfer over what would be the point of playing? You wouldn’t have much to play for… If you want your old stuff go play old Reach. It’s not like the stuff isn’t there. But complaints like this is why I didn’t want reach added at all. Wether the transfered the stuff or not there would be a group not happy. They should have worked on just adding more of the games we already had versus adding reach. Reach was a sub-par Halo game that caused the majority of the population to bail on Halo.

As someone who likes a reason to grind, I’m glad we get to re-unlock everything. It gives me a reason to play. If we didn’t get to unlock everything again I wouldn’t have complained since that’s how it is for the other MCC Halo titles, but I simply wouldn’t have come back to MCC.

No I’m not talking about Sc,films or maps. I’m talking about profile.

Well you can’t satisfy everyone, but if they really wanted too they could’ve done some kinda manual transfer so it isn’t a forced transfer for the people who want to grind their cosmetics back. But I for one don’t care for grinding for cosmetics, I like playing the game while playing with my unique armor.

The whole reason of the progression system is that we have the opportunity to unlock the armour. One of the things many players wanted since the launch of the game was a progression system and for us to work towards the armour. What would be the point of the progression system for us Inheritors if we already have everything unlocked? Everybody gets a fresh start.

There was already a progress system in Reach, you level up and you’re able to buy the armor with credits once you each a certain level, like I said before for the people who don’t want to grind again for their cosmetics they should implement a manual transfer option, so if you want to grind for your gear again you don’t transfer you profile. I’ve never seen anyone ask for a Fortnite battle tier progression system.
